Jeremiah Chapter 6
Ayo, crew from Benjamin, gather up and bounce from Jerusalem, blast that horn in Tekoa, and light a signal fire in Beth–haccerem: bad energy's rollin' in from the north, and it’s gonna be chaotic.
O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
For real, the daughter of Zion is straight up a queen, mad fine and fragile.
I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate {woman}. {comely: or, dwelling at home}
Shepherds and their flocks are pulling up to her; they're setting up camp all around, and everyone’s munching in their own zone.
The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch {their} tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
Get hyped for battle against her; let’s rise up and make moves at noon. This is tough, fam! The day is slipping away, and the evening shadows are stretching long.
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
Let’s bounce at night and wreck her strongholds.
Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
No cap, the Lord of hosts said, chop down those trees, and build a ramp against Jerusalem: this city needs a visit; she’s seriously struggling at her core.
For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this {is} the city to be visited; she {is} wholly oppression in the midst of her. {cast...: or, pour out the engine of shot}
Just like a fountain spills water, she’s leaking her evil: violence and chaos are everywhere in her; I’m feeling pain and wounds nonstop.
As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually {is} grief and wounds.
Listen up, Jerusalem, or I might peace out; I could leave you desolate, a ghost town.
Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited. {depart: Heb. be loosed, or, disjointed}
The Lord of hosts says, they’ll totally comb through what’s left of Israel like picking grapes: turn back your hand like a grape gatherer into the baskets.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
Who should I hit up to give the word, so they actually hear? Check it, their ears are all blocked, and they can't even hear: the word of the Lord is just a cringe to them; they don’t vibe with it.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear {is} uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
I’m lowkey full of God's wrath; I’m tired of keeping it in. I’m about to spill the tea on everyone, even the couples and the old heads.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with {him that is} full of days.
Their homes are getting swapped with others, and their fields and wives too: I'm reaching out to the crew in this land, says the Lord.
And their houses shall be turned unto others, {with their} fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
From the least to the greatest, everyone's just vibing on greed; even the prophets and priests are acting sus.
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one {is} given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
They’re like, "We got you," but they only patched the surface wounds of my people, saying, "Peace, peace," when it’s all chaos.
They have healed also the hurt {of the daughter} of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when {there is} no peace. {hurt: Heb. bruise, or, breach}
Were they even embarrassed when they did something savage? Nah, they didn’t even flinch; so when I show up, they’re gonna be down bad, says the Lord.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time {that} I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
The Lord’s like, "Yo, check the old paths for the good vibes and walk that way, and you’ll find peace for your souls." But they were like, "Nah, we’re not doing that."
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where {is} the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk {therein}.
I had watchmen telling you to hear the trumpet vibes, but they were like, "We ain’t listening."
Also I set watchmen over you, {saying}, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
So listen up, nations, and peep what's going down in the crew.
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what {is} among them.
Listen up, earth: I'm about to drop some bad energy on this crew, 'cause they brushed off my words and dissed my law.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, {even} the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
What’s the use of your incense from Sheba and sweet stuff from far away? Your burnt offerings ain’t hitting, and your sacrifices are just not it for me.
To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings {are} not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
So like, God’s saying, “Yo, I’m gonna put some major trip-ups in front of these peeps, and both dads and sons are gonna fall hard; even neighbors and friends are gonna be done for.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
God’s like, “Check it, a crew’s rolling in from the north, and a dope nation’s gonna rise up from the ends of the earth.”
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
They’re gonna grab bows and spears; they’re savage, no mercy vibes; their voices roar like the ocean, and they’re coming in on horses, all geared up for war against you, O daughter of Zion.
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they {are} cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
We’ve heard the whispers: our hands are weak, and we’re feeling the pain like a mom in labor.
We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, {and} pain, as of a woman in travail.
Don’t even step outside or stroll around; the enemy’s sword and fear are everywhere, no cap.
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy {and} fear {is} on every side.
O my people, throw on some sackcloth and roll in ashes; mourn like you lost your only son, it’s gonna be a super bitter time because the spoiler’s about to hit us hard.
O daughter of my people, gird {thee} with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, {as for} an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
I’ve made you a strong tower and fortress among my people so you can see what they’re really about.
I have set thee {for} a tower {and} a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
They’re all just wild rebels, spreading drama; they’re like brass and iron; totally corrupt vibes.
They {are} all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: {they are} brass and iron; they {are} all corrupters.
The bellows are burning, and the lead’s getting wrecked by the fire; the metalworker’s efforts are wasted because the wicked aren’t getting taken out.
The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.
People are gonna call them trash silver, ‘cause the Lord’s totally rejected them.
Reprobate silver shall {men} call them, because the LORD hath rejected them. {Reprobate...: or, Refuse silver}
