Jeremiah Chapter 25
So Jeremiah got the lowdown about all the homies in Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah; it was also Nebuchadrezzar's first year ruling Babylon, vibing hard.
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that {was} the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
Out there, Jeremiah, the prophet, was shouting to all the Judah peeps and the crew in Jerusalem, saying, "Yo, listen up!"
The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
For real, since the thirteenth year of Josiah, son of Amon, who was king of Judah, it’s been 23 years of me getting the scoop from the Lord and dropping it on you, but you all just ain't tryna hear it, fr.
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that {is} the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
The Lord sent all His prophet homies your way early on, but y’all still didn’t wanna vibe with it, no cap.
And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending {them}; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
They were like, "Yo, turn away from your bad energy and your shady moves, and just chill in the land the Lord gave you and your fam for good vibes."
They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
And don’t be chasing after other gods to serve or worship; I'm telling you, it’ll only make me mad about what you’re doing; I won’t throw shade, bet.
And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
But you still didn’t vibe with me, says the Lord; you’re just pushing my buttons with your actions, and trust, it’s gonna backfire on you, periodt.
Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
So here’s the situation from the Lord of hosts; since you didn’t listen to my words,
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
Check it, I’m calling all the families from the north, says the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, my dude, is coming for this land and its people; it’s going to be a total disaster, fr.
Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
Plus, I’m snatching away all the happy vibes, the joy, the wedding cheers, the sound of grinding, and even the light from the candles; it’s gonna feel sus.
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. {I will...: Heb. I will cause to perish from them}
This entire land’s about to be in shambles, straight wild; these nations will be serving the king of Babylon for like seventy years, no cap.
And this whole land shall be a desolation, {and} an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
After those seventy years roll around, I’m coming for the king of Babylon and that whole nation, says the Lord, for their major fail, and the land of the Chaldeans is gonna be a ghost town forever.
And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, {that} I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. {punish: Heb. visit upon}
I’m bringing all my words against that land, everything written in this book that Jeremiah shouted out for all the nations, fr.
And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, {even} all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
Many nations and big-name kings are gonna vibe with them too; I’ll hit them back based on their actions, periodt.
For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
The Lord God of Israel told me to grab the wine cup of this fury and make all the nations I send you to down it, bet.
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
They’re gonna sip it, get shook, and lose their minds over the sword I’m sending their way, no cap.
And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations drink it, the ones the Lord sent me to, fr.
Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
Like, Jerusalem, the cities of Judah, their kings, and their princes, turning them into a wreck, a shock, a meme, and a curse; just like it is right now.
{To wit}, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as {it is} this day;
Pharaoh, king of Egypt, his crew, and all his people, straight up.
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
And all the mixed folks, all the kings of Uz, along with all the kings from the Philistines, Ashkelon, Azzah, Ekron, and the leftovers from Ashdod, you feel me?
And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
Edom, Moab, and the fam of Ammon, no cap.
Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
All the kings of Tyrus and Zidon, plus the kings from the islands, they be vibin’.
And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which {are} beyond the sea, {isles: or, region by the sea side}
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and everyone chilling in the corners, fr.
Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all {that are} in the utmost corners, {that...: Heb. cut off into corners, or, having the corners of the hair polled}
All the kings of Arabia and the mixed crew in the desert, they pop off.
And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
All the kings of Zimri, Elam, and the Medes, they be rizzin’ up.
And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
Kings from the north, far and near, all the kingdoms on this planet: king of Sheshach gonna drink after them, lit.
And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which {are} upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
So you gotta tell them, "Yo, the Lord’s got a message: Drink up, get turnt, and fall down, 'cause the sword's on its way for ya."
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
If they ain’t down to sip from your cup, just say, "The Lord says you gonna drink, no cap."
And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
For real, I’m about to bring some serious vibes to the city with my name; you think you’ll dodge the heat? Nah, you won’t be unpunished, 'cause I’m calling for a sword on all the earth’s peeps, says the Lord.
For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts. {which...: Heb. upon which my name is called}
So prophesy all these words against them, and say, "The Lord’s gonna roar from up high, drop His voice from His holy spot; He’s gonna roar like a boss against everyone on the earth."
Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread {the grapes}, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
A noise gonna echo across the entire earth; God’s got beef with the nations, He’s gonna plead with everyone; the wicked are getting served up, no cap.
A noise shall come {even} to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them {that are} wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
The Lord's like, “Yo, evil's about to spread from nation to nation, and a massive whirlwind's popping off from the coasts.”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
On that day, the fallen of the Lord gonna be everywhere on the earth: nobody gonna mourn, gather, or bury them; they just gonna be trash on the ground.
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from {one} end of the earth even unto the {other} end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
Shepherds, howl and cry; roll in the ashes, you leaders of the flock: your slaughter days are done; you gonna drop like a lit vase.
Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves {in the ashes}, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. {the days...: Heb. your days for slaughter} {a pleasant...: Heb. a vessel of desire}
The shepherds ain’t got no escape plan, and the top dogs of the flock can’t dip either.
And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape. {the shepherds...: Heb. flight shall perish from the shepherds, and escaping from, etc}
You can hear the shepherds crying and the leaders howling, 'cause the Lord wrecked their pastures.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, {shall be heard}: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
The chill spots are getting wrecked 'cause of the Lord's fierce anger.
And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
He ditched His cover like a lion: their land is a wasteland 'cause of the oppressor’s rage and His savage anger.
He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger. {desolate: Heb. a desolation}
