Jeremiah Chapter 15
So God was like, "Even if Moses and Samuel showed up, I’m still not vibing with these folks. Just ditch them, let them bounce out."
Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, {yet} my mind {could} not {be} toward this people: cast {them} out of my sight, and let them go forth.
If they hit you up asking where to roll, just say, "The Lord's got the 411: if you’re about death, that’s where you’re going; if you’re rocking the sword, that’s your vibe; if you’re into famine, that’s on you; and if you're down for captivity, enjoy that ride."
And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as {are} for death, to death; and such as {are} for the sword, to the sword; and such as {are} for the famine, to the famine; and such as {are} for the captivity, to the captivity.
The Lord said, "I’m sending four types of chaos their way: the sword to take them out, dogs to rip them apart, birds to swoop in, and beasts to feast on them."
And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy. {kinds: Heb. families}
I’m shipping them off to all the kingdoms 'cause of what Manasseh, Hezekiah’s kid, did in Jerusalem.
And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for {that} which he did in Jerusalem. {cause...: Heb. give them for a removing}
Who's really gonna care for you, Jerusalem? Who's even checking for you?
For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest? {how...: Heb. of thy peace?}
You ghosted me, says the Lord, and now you’re trying to backtrack: so I’m about to stretch my hand against you and wipe you out; I’m done with the apologies.
Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
I’m gonna blow them away at the city gates; I’ll take their kids and wreck my people since they won’t switch up their game.
And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave {them} of children, I will destroy my people, {since} they return not from their ways. {children: or, whatsoever is dear}
There are more widows than sand on the beach; I brought a spoiler against the young men at noon, and it hit them outta nowhere with fear in the city.
Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused {him} to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city. {the mother...: or, the mother city a young man spoiling, etc, or, the mother and the young men}
The one who had seven is now weak: she’s checked out; her sun went down while it was still day; she’s embarrassed and confused, and I’ll hand the rest over to the sword before their enemies, says the Lord.
She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while {it was} yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
Man, why’d you have to bring me into this world as a drama king, Mom? I didn’t borrow or lend, yet everyone’s out here cursing me.
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; {yet} every one of them doth curse me.
The Lord said, "For real, it’s gonna be solid for your remnant; the enemy's gonna treat you right when things get rough."
The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee {well} in the time of evil and in the time of affliction. {cause...: or, intreat the enemy for thee}
Can iron break iron and steel from the north?
Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
I’m giving up your stuff and treasures for free, all because of your sins, even in your own turf.
Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and {that} for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
I’m making you roll with your enemies to a land you don’t even know: my anger’s like a fire, and it’s about to burn on you.
And I will make {thee} to pass with thine enemies into a land {which} thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, {which} shall burn upon you.
Lord, you know what’s up: remember me, vibe with me, and get back at my haters; don’t take me out in your patience: just know I’ve been dealing with the hate for you.
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
I found your words and devoured them; your word made my heart lit: for I’m called by your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. {I am...: Heb. thy name is called upon me}
I didn’t chill with the mockers or celebrate; I was solo 'cause of your hand: you filled me with rage.
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
Why's my pain never-ending, and my wound can’t heal? Are you really gonna act like a liar and be like water that just dries up?
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, {which} refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, {and as} waters {that} fail? {fail: Heb. be not sure?}
The Lord said, "If you bounce back, I’ll bring you back, and you’ll stand before me: if you separate the good from the bad, you’ll be like my mouth: let them come back to you, but don’t go back to them."
Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, {and} thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.
I’m gonna make you a solid wall for these people: they’ll come at you, but they won’t win; I’m with you to save and deliver you, says the Lord.
And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I {am} with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
I’ll rescue you from the wicked and redeem you from the terrible.
And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.
