Isaiah Chapter 59
Listen up, the Lord's hand isn’t short, He can save for real; His ear isn’t heavy, He totally hears you, no cap.
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But it’s your bad energy that’s put a wall between you and God, and your wrongdoings have hid His face, so He ain't hearing you.
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid {his} face from you, that he will not hear. {have hid: or, have made him hide}
Your hands are grimy with blood, your fingers are mad sus with sin; you’re spitting straight lies and your tongue is wilding out.
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
No one’s calling out for justice or keeping it 100; they’re vibing with deception, plotting chaos, and that’s just savage.
None calleth for justice, nor {any} pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
They’re cooking up some shady schemes and weaving a web; if you bite on their schemes, it’s curtains, and what gets crushed turns into a snake.
They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper. {cockatrice': or, adder's} {crushed...: or, sprinkled is as if there brake out a viper}
Their webs ain't gonna turn into drip, and they can’t hide their messy business: it’s all bad vibes, and they’re just causing chaos.
Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works {are} works of iniquity, and the act of violence {is} in their hands.
Their feet are sprinting towards wickedness, rushing to spill innocent blood; their thoughts are all twisted; waste and ruin are their playlist.
Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts {are} thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction {are} in their paths. {destruction: Heb. breaking}
They don’t even recognize the path to peace; no justice in their moves; they’ve made their ways all crooked, and if you walk them, good luck finding peace.
The way of peace they know not; and {there is} no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. {judgment: or, right}
So judgment is chilling far away, and justice is ghosting us; we’re waiting for light, but it’s just dark times, fr.
Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, {but} we walk in darkness.
We’re feeling around like the blind, stumbling in the daylight like it’s nighttime; we’re in barren places, like we’re living dead.
We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if {we had} no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; {we are} in desolate places as dead {men}.
We’re roaring like bears and sobbing like doves; searching for justice but it’s MIA, and salvation is nowhere to be found.
We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but {there is} none; for salvation, {but} it is far off from us.
Our sins are stacking up, and they’re totally calling us out; we know our faults, and they’re right here with us.
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions {are} with us; and {as for} our iniquities, we know them;
We’re out here lying to the Lord, turning our backs on God, speaking oppression and rebellion, and spitting falsehoods straight from the heart.
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
And judgment is just stepping back, and justice is lounging far away; truth has hit the ground, and fairness can’t even get in.
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Yeah, truth is flopping; if you turn away from evil, you’re just a target; the Lord noticed and wasn’t vibing with the lack of justice.
Yea, truth faileth; and he {that} departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw {it}, and it displeased him that {there was} no judgment. {maketh...: or, is accounted mad} {it displeased...: Heb. it was evil in his eyes}
He peeped there was no one to step up, and it shook Him; so His arm brought salvation, and His righteousness had His back.
And he saw that {there was} no man, and wondered that {there was} no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
He rocked righteousness like a breastplate and a helmet of salvation on His dome; He put on vengeance like a fit and was all about that zeal.
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance {for} clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
He’s about to serve up what’s deserved, bringing fury to His enemies and payback to His foes; even the islands will get what’s coming.
According to {their} deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. {deeds: Heb. recompences}
They’ll fear the Lord’s name from the west, and His glory from the sunrise; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise a standard.
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. {lift...: or, put him to flight}
And the Redeemer is on the way to Zion, for those who turn from their wrongs in Jacob, says the Lord.
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
As for me, this is my pact with them, says the Lord; My spirit’s on you, and the words I dropped in your mouth won’t dip out, not now, not ever.
As for me, this {is} my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that {is} upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
