Isaiah Chapter 51
Yo, fam, if you're all about righteousness and searching for the Lord, keep in mind where you came from, like the rock you were shaped from, and the pit you crawled out of.
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock {whence} ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit {whence} ye are digged.
Peep Abraham, your original dude, and Sarah who brought you into existence; I hit him up solo, blessed him, and leveled him up.
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah {that} bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
The Lord’s about to give Zion some serious comfort; He'll transform her wasteland into a total vibe like Eden, and her desert will be ultimate garden goals; happiness and pure vibes will flow, with gratitude and sweet tunes everywhere.
For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
Yo, my peeps, hear me out; listen up, my nation: a law's about to drop from me, and my judgment's gonna shine bright for the folks.
Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
My righteousness is right around the corner, my salvation is here, and my arms will judge the people; the islands are counting on me, trusting in my strength, no cap.
My righteousness {is} near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
Look up to the skies and peep the earth down below; the heavens will fade away like smoke, and the earth's gonna age like a tired outfit, and everyone living there will kick the bucket too: but my salvation's forever, and my righteousness is staying put.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Listen close, you who get what's right, the folks with my law in their hearts; don’t let what others say get to you, or let their shade mess with your vibe.
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart {is} my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Moths are gonna munch on them like they're clothes, and worms will feast on them like wool; but my righteousness is eternal, and my salvation will vibe through every generation.
For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
Wake up, wake up, flex that strength, O arm of the Lord; rise up like you did back in the day, from the old-school crew. Aren't you the one who took down Rahab and messed up the dragon?
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. {Art} thou not it that hath cut Rahab, {and} wounded the dragon?
Aren't you the one who dried up the sea, the deep waters; who made the ocean floor a pathway for the ransomed to walk on?
{Art} thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
So the redeemed of the Lord will roll back in, singing to Zion; everlasting joy's gonna be on their heads: they'll grab onto happiness and joy, and grief and mourning will bounce away.
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy {shall be} upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; {and} sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
I, for real, am the one who gives you comfort: who are you to fear a dude who's just gonna die, or the son of man who's basically grass?
I, {even} I, {am} he that comforteth you: who {art} thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man {that} shall die, and of the son of man {which} shall be made {as} grass;
And you forget the Lord, your creator, who spread out the heavens and set the earth's foundations; why stress every day over the oppressor’s rage, like he’s about to end you? Where’s that oppressor now?
And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where {is} the fury of the oppressor? {were...: or, made himself ready}
The captive's trying to break free, so he doesn't kick the bucket in the pit, or run out of food.
The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
But I’m the Lord your God, the one who split the sea, whose waves were straight fire: The Lord of hosts is my name.
But I {am} the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts {is} his name.
I placed my words in your mouth, and covered you in my hand's shade, so I can set the heavens, lay the earth's foundations, and tell Zion, "You’re my people."
And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou {art} my people.
Wake up, wake up, stand strong, O Jerusalem, you've sipped from the Lord's cup of wrath; you’ve downed the dregs of the trembling cup and squeezed them out.
Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, {and} wrung {them} out.
There’s no one to guide her among all the kids she raised; no one's there to take her hand from all the sons she brought up.
{There is} none to guide her among all the sons {whom} she hath brought forth; neither {is there any} that taketh her by the hand of all the sons {that} she hath brought up.
These two things have hit you; who’s gonna feel bad for you? Desolation, destruction, famine, and the sword: who’s gonna comfort you?
These two {things} are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee? {are...: Heb. happened} {destruction: Heb. breaking}
Your kids have passed out, chilling on the corners like a wild bull caught in a net: they're filled with the Lord's anger, the rebuke of your God.
Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.
So listen up now, you who are struggling and tipsy, but not from wine:
Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
Thus says your Lord, the Lord, and your God who fights for his people, "Look, I’ve taken the cup of trembling from your hand, even the dregs of my fury; you won’t be drinking it again."
Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God {that} pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, {even} the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:
But I’ll hand it to those who are messing with you; they said to your soul, "Bow down so we can walk over," and you laid your body down like the ground and the street for them to pass.
But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
