Isaiah Chapter 47
Ayo, slide down and hang out in the dirt, untouched daughter of Babylon, no throne for you, Chaldean shorty: that soft and sweet title? It's done for you.
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: {there is} no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
Snatch those millstones and grind that grain: flex those locks, show those legs, and cross those rivers.
Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
Your shame’s about to get aired out, no cap: I’m coming for that payback, and I ain't rolling up like a regular dude.
Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet {thee as} a man.
Who's our savior? That’s the Lord of hosts, the Holy One of Israel, fam.
{As for} our redeemer, the LORD of hosts {is} his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Just chill there quietly and dive into the dark, Chaldean girl: you ain't gonna wear the crown of kingdoms anymore.
Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
I was tight with my peeps, messed up my legacy, and handed them over to you: you showed zero mercy; you laid down a heavy load on the OGs.
I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
Thought you’d be a queen forever, but you didn’t even consider the grand finale.
And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: {so} that thou didst not lay these {things} to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
So peep this, you who loves the high life, living stress-free, thinking in your heart, "I’m the GOAT, nobody else compares"; you’ll never know what it’s like to be a widow or lose your kids.
Therefore hear now this, {thou that art} given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I {am}, and none else beside me; I shall not sit {as} a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
But these two things are rolling up on you real quick, like losing kids and widow vibes: they’ll hit you hard due to your many sorceries and all those crazy charms.
But these two {things} shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, {and} for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
You were banking on your wicked ways, thinking you’re invisible. Your wisdom got all twisted, and you’re like, "I’m the GOAT, nobody else."
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I {am}, and none else beside me. {perverted...: or, caused thee to turn away}
So that evil’s gonna hit you; you won't even know where it snuck in from: trouble's gonna crash down on you, and you won’t shake it off; desolation's coming outta nowhere, and you won’t even see it coming.
Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, {which} thou shalt not know. {from...: Heb. the morning thereof} {put: Heb. expiate}
Try holding it down with your spells and all those tricks you’ve been conjuring since you were a kid; maybe they’ll actually come through for you.
Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
You’re worn out from all your advice, so let the astrologers, starreaders, and monthly predictors step up and save you from what’s about to go down.
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from {these things} that shall come upon thee. {astrologers: Heb. viewers of the heavens} {the monthly...: Heb. that give knowledge concerning the months}
Check it, they'll be like dry grass; the fire will roast them alive; they can't save themselves from the flames: no coals to warm up with, no fire to chill in front of.
Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: {there shall} not {be} a coal to warm at, {nor} fire to sit before it. {themselves: Heb. their souls}
That’s how it’s gonna go for your crew, those merchants from back in the day: they’ll dip to their own spots; no one’s gonna save you.
Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, {even} thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
