Isaiah Chapter 25
For real, God, you’re my dude; I’m here to hype you and rep your name, 'cause you’ve pulled off some epic moves; your plans are straight flames and totally legit.
O LORD, thou {art} my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful {things; thy} counsels of old {are} faithfulness {and} truth.
You turned a whole city into dust; what used to be a fortress is now just a deserted block; no cap, it’s never bouncing back.
For thou hast made of a city an heap; {of} a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
So the solid squad will flex on you, and the city of the scary nations will be shooketh.
Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
You’ve been a whole vibe for the underdogs, giving strength to those in need when stuff hits the fan, like a shelter from the storm, a cool spot when the heat’s turned up and the haters are coming at us.
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones {is} as a storm {against} the wall.
You’ll hush the chatter from the outsiders, like how heat feels during a drought; the shade from a cloud will cool things down; the arrogance of the haters will be brought low.
Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; {even} the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
On this mountain, the Lord of hosts is serving up a feast for everyone, like an all-you-can-eat of the good stuff, and drinks that are pure top-tier.
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
He’s gonna clear away the cover that’s been blocking everyone’s view and the veil that’s been on all nations.
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. {destroy: Heb. swallow up} {cast: Heb. covered}
He’s about to take out death like a champ; the Lord God will wipe every tear off our faces; he’s gonna lift the shame off his people from the whole earth: no joke, the Lord said it.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken {it}.
And on that day, folks will say, "Peep this, this is our God; we’ve been waiting for him, and he’s gonna rescue us: this is the Lord; we’ve been waiting, and we’ll be hype celebrating his salvation."
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this {is} our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this {is} the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
On this mountain, the Lord’s hand will chill, and Moab will be wrecked under him, just like straw gets crushed for the trash pile.
For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. {trodden down under: or, threshed, etc} {trodden down for...: or, threshed in Madmenah}
He’ll stretch out his arms like someone trying to swim, and he’s gonna bring down their pride along with their loot.
And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth {his hands} to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
The strong walls you built will be brought low, flattened, and taken down to the dust.
And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, {and} bring to the ground, {even} to the dust.
