Isaiah Chapter 24
So, the Lord's straight up emptying the earth, turning it into a wasteland, flipping it around, and spreading the people everywhere.
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. {turneth...: Heb. perverteth the face thereof}
It’ll be like, if the crowd's down, the priests are too; if the servant’s struggling, the boss is feeling it; if the buyer's bummed, the seller's got no luck; if the lender's sus, the borrower’s in trouble.
And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. {priest: or, prince}
The land’s gonna be fully empty and wrecked, 'cause the Lord said so, no cap.
The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
The earth’s all sad and faded, the world’s got a low vibe, and the boujee folks are just feeling down.
The earth mourneth {and} fadeth away, the world languisheth {and} fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. {the haughty...: Heb. the height of the people}
The earth’s completely messed up 'cause of its people; they broke the rules, switched it up, and bailed on the eternal covenant.
The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
So, the curse is munching on the earth, and those living there are feeling empty; the inhabitants are burnt out, and it’s a struggle.
Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
New wine’s all bummed out, the vine’s struggling hard, and all the party peeps are just sighing.
The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.
The beats are dead, the hype has vanished, and the joy from the harp just up and left.
The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.
They won’t be sipping wine with good vibes; strong drinks are gonna taste bitter to those trying to enjoy it.
They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
The city’s a total wreck, every house is locked up tight, no one’s getting in.
The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
There’s peeps crying for wine in the streets; all the joy is dark, and the good vibes are nonexistent.
{There is} a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.
The city’s left in ruins, and the gate's all smashed up.
In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
When things are like this in the land, it’ll feel like an olive tree shaking and grapes being snatched after harvest.
When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, {there shall be} as the shaking of an olive tree, {and} as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.
They’ll lift their voices, singing for the Lord’s glory, calling out from the sea.
They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
So, show some love to the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the islands.
Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, {even} the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea. {fires: or, valleys}
From the ends of the earth, we hear songs, giving glory to the righteous. But I’m like, "I’m struggling, I’m struggling, woe is me!" The shady dealers are acting shady; for real, they’re super sus.
From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, {even} glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously. {uttermost...: Heb. wing} {My leanness: Heb. Leanness to me, or, My secret to me}
Fear, traps, and snares are all on you, O earth-dweller.
Fear, and the pit, and the snare, {are} upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
And whoever bounces from the fear noise will fall into a trap; and whoever climbs out will get caught again; 'cause the windows from up high are open, and the earth’s foundations are shaking.
And it shall come to pass, {that} he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
The earth’s totally broken down, it’s like, clean dissolved, and moving heavy.
The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
The earth’s gonna sway like it's tipsy, and be taken away like a shack; the weight of its wrongs is heavy, and it’s gonna fall, never to rise again.
The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
And it’ll be that day when the Lord’s coming for the high-ups and the kings of the earth.
And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones {that are} on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. {punish: Heb. visit upon}
They’ll be gathered like prisoners in a pit and locked up, and after a while, they’ll be checked on.
And they shall be gathered together, {as} prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. {as prisoners...: Heb. with the gathering of prisoners} {pit: or, dungeon} {visited: or, found wanting}
Then the moon will be shook, and the sun will feel embarrassed when the Lord of hosts reigns on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, looking glorious before his crew.
Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously. {before...: or, there shall be glory before his ancients}
