Isaiah Chapter 14
God's got serious love for Jacob and is still all about Israel, giving them their own spot: strangers gonna vibe with them and stick to Jacob's crew.
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
The people are gonna scoop them up and bring them back: Israel's gonna flex in the Lord's land as servants, flipping the game and ruling their oppressors.
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. {whose...: Heb. that had taken them captives}
Soon, the Lord's gonna hook you up with some chill from your struggles, fears, and all that heavy stuff you’ve been dealing with, fr.
And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
You’re about to drop this roast on the king of Babylon, asking, "How’d the oppressor fall off? The golden city is done for!"
That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased! {proverb: or, taunting speech} {golden...: or, exactress of gold}
The Lord took out the wicked’s staff and crushed the rulers’ scepter, no cap.
The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, {and} the sceptre of the rulers.
The one who smacked the people with rage and ruled nations in anger is now facing persecution, and nobody's stepping in.
He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, {and} none hindereth. {a continual...: Heb. a stroke without removing}
The whole earth is just chillin’ and quiet now: they’re breaking out in song.
The whole earth is at rest, {and} is quiet: they break forth into singing.
For real, the fir trees are hyped for you, and the cedars of Lebanon are like, "Since you’re down, no one's coming to chop us down."
Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, {and} the cedars of Lebanon, {saying}, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
The underworld's getting shook for you, ready to welcome you when you show up: it’s waking up the dead, even the top dogs of the earth; all the kings are rising from their thrones.
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet {thee} at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, {even} all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. {Hell: or, The grave} {chief...: Heb. leaders, or, great goats}
They all gonna say to you, "You’re looking weak like us? You turned into one of us now?"
All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Your vibe is totally down in the grave, and your music’s just noise now: worms are all over you, no cap.
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, {and} the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
How you gonna fall from heaven, Lucifer, morning star? You got cut down to the ground, and now you’re weak, fr.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! {how} art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! {O Lucifer: or, O day star}
You thought you could rise to heaven, show off your throne above the stars? You wanted to chill on the mount up north, but nah.
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
You were like, "I’ll rise above the clouds; I’ll be like the Big Boss," but that’s sus.
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
But you’re getting sent down to the pit, for real.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
People gonna look at you and say, "Is this the dude who made the earth shake and took down kingdoms?"
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, {and} consider thee, {saying, Is} this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
You turned the world into a wasteland and wrecked cities; you didn’t even free your prisoners, savage.
{That} made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; {that} opened not the house of his prisoners? {opened...: or, did not let his prisoners loose homeward?}
All the kings are chilling in glory, each in their own crib, periodt.
All the kings of the nations, {even} all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
But you got tossed outta your grave like a busted branch, just like the clothes of the fallen, trampled underfoot.
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, {and as} the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
You won't get buried with them ‘cause you messed up your land and took out your people: the legacy of bad vibes won’t last.
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, {and} slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
Get ready to take out his kids for their fam's wrongs; they ain’t rising up, owning the land, or filling the world with cities, no cap.
Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
For I’m coming for them, says the Lord of hosts, and I’m cutting off Babylon’s name and crew, fr.
For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.
I’m turning it into a hangout for the bittern and some chill water vibes; I’ll clean it up with destruction’s broom, says the Lord of hosts.
I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.
The Lord of hosts swore, saying, for real, as I planned, so it’s happening; and as I decided, that’s how it’s gonna be, periodt.
The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, {so} shall it stand:
I'm gonna break the Assyrian in my land and stomp him on my mountains; then his yoke's gonna drop, and his burden’s off their shoulders, lit.
That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
This is the plan for the whole earth, and this is the hand reaching out to all the nations, vibes.
This {is} the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this {is} the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
For the Lord of hosts made this plan, and who’s gonna change it? His hand is out, and who’s gonna stop it?
For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul {it}? and his hand {is} stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
In the year King Ahaz kicked the bucket, this weight dropped.
In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
Don’t celebrate, Palestina, just 'cause the dude who hit you is down; from the serpent's roots, a fierce creature’s coming, and it’s gonna be wild.
Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit {shall be} a fiery flying serpent. {cockatrice: or, adder}
The firstborn of the broke will eat, and the needy will chill in safety; I’ll end your roots with hunger, and he’ll wipe out your crew.
And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.
Yo, gates, start howlin'; cities, cry out! Palestina is totally shook 'cause smoke's rolling in from the north, and nobody's chillin' on their own time.
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, {art} dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none {shall be} alone in his appointed times. {none...: or, he shall not be alone} {appointed...: or, assemblies}
So what do we tell the squad from the nation? The Lord built up Zion, and the homies in need can trust it, no cap.
What shall {one} then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it. {trust...: or, betake themselves unto it}
