Isaiah Chapter 11
A fresh branch is about to emerge from Jesse's lineage, straight up sprouting from the roots, no cap.
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
The Spirit of the Lord will chill with him, bringing wisdom and insight, plus some serious charm and power, periodt.
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
He’ll quickly peep what’s righteous, not judging based on appearances or hearsay, fr.
And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: {quick...: Heb. scent or, smell}
He’ll bring mad fairness to the needy and keep it real for the low-key; he’ll drop wisdom like it’s fire and take out the evildoers with his words.
But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. {reprove: or, argue}
Righteousness will be his style, and loyalty will be his vibe check.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Wolves and lambs vibing together, leopards and baby goats just chilling; even a kid will lead the crew, it’s lit.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Cows and bears feasting side by side, their young ones just relaxing; lions munching on grass like they’re cows, no cap.
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
A little kid playing with snakes like it’s nothing, just flexing on the risk.
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. {cockatrice': or, adder's}
Nothing’s gonna harm or wreck in my sacred space; the earth will overflow with the Lord’s knowledge, like waters covering the sea, fr.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
On that day, Jesse’s root will be the ultimate signal for the squad; even the Gentiles will be on the lookout for it, and his chill vibes will be legendary.
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. {glorious: Heb. glory}
The Lord’s about to come through again to gather the remnant of his people from all over, you know, like Assyria, Egypt, and beyond.
And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
He’ll set up a signal for the nations, rounding up the outcasts of Israel and the scattered Judah folks from all directions, lit.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. {corners: Heb. wings}
No more drama between Ephraim and Judah; they’ll be cool, no beef, periodt.
The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
They’ll roll in on the Philistines from the west, reclaiming what’s theirs from the east; Edom and Moab better keep an eye out, cause the kids of Ammon are gonna pay attention.
But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. {them of: Heb. the children of} {they shall lay...: Heb. Edom and Moab shall be the laying on of their hand} {shall obey...: Heb. their obedience}
The Lord’s about to clear the Egyptian sea’s tongue; with a mighty wind, he’ll shake the place up and carve a path through, no cap.
And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make {men} go over dryshod. {dryshod: Heb. in shoes}
There’s gonna be a highway for those remaining from Assyria, just like when Israel bounced out of Egypt, fr.
And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
