Hosea Chapter 9
Don’t get it twisted, Israel; your happiness ain't the same as others. You've been out here cheating on God, chasing rewards like they’re the vibe.
Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as {other} people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor. {upon: or, in, etc}
The threshing floor and winepress ain't gonna feed them, and the new wine's gonna flop, no cap.
The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her. {winepress: or, winefat}
They won’t vibe in the Lord's territory; Ephraim's headed back to Egypt, munching on sus stuff in Assyria.
They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean {things} in Assyria.
They ain't bringing wine to the Lord, and He ain't feeling it: their sacrifices are like sad bread; anyone who eats it gets tainted, fr.
They shall not offer wine {offerings} to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices {shall be} unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
What’s your plan on the serious day and the Lord's feast day?
What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
For real, they’re out because of destruction: Egypt’s snatching them up, Memphis is burying them; their chill spots for silver are now just thorns and nettles.
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant {places} for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns {shall be} in their tabernacles. {destruction: Heb. spoil} {the...: or, their silver shall be desired, the nettle, etc.: Heb. the desire}
The days of reckoning are here; Israel’s gonna peep it: the prophet’s a fool, the spiritual dude’s lost it, all because of your wild sins and the hate.
The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know {it}: the prophet {is} a fool, the spiritual man {is} mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred. {spiritual...: Heb. man of the spirit}
The watchman of Ephraim was with my God, but the prophet's just a trapper everywhere, spreading hate in God’s crib.
The watchman of Ephraim {was} with my God: {but} the prophet {is} a snare of a fowler in all his ways, {and} hatred in the house of his God. {in the: or, against the}
They’ve seriously messed themselves up, like back in Gibeah: so God’s gonna remember their sins and come for them.
They have deeply corrupted {themselves}, as in the days of Gibeah: {therefore} he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
I found Israel like grapes in the desert; I saw your fam like the first figs on the tree, but they went to Baal–peor and straight embarrassed themselves, loving their own shame.
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: {but} they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto {that} shame; and {their} abominations were according as they loved.
Ephraim's glory's gonna dip like a bird, from birth to womb to conception.
{As for} Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
Even if they raise their kids, I’m gonna take them away; no dudes left, and it’s gonna be a whole vibe when I’m gone!
Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, {that there shall} not {be} a man {left}: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
Ephraim, like I peeped Tyrus, is planted in a solid spot: but Ephraim's gonna hand his kids over to the killer.
Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, {is} planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
Give it to them, Lord: what you got? Give them a barren womb and dry breasts, periodt.
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. {miscarrying: Heb. that casteth the fruit}
All their wickedness is in Gilgal: I hated them there; because of their evil, I'm kicking them outta my crib, loving them no more: all their leaders are rebels.
All their wickedness {is} in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes {are} revolters.
Ephraim's been hit hard, their roots are dried up, no fruit's coming: even if they try, I'm taking out the beloved fruit of their womb.
Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay {even} the beloved {fruit} of their womb. {the...: Heb. the desires}
My God will toss them aside because they didn’t vibe with Him: they’ll be lost among the nations.
My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
