Hosea Chapter 14
Ayo Israel, it's time to bounce back to your God; you seriously slipped up with your wrong moves.
O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
Hit up the Lord with some real talk: say, 'Clear our mess and show us love' and we’ll vibe with our praises.
Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive {us} graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. {receive...: or, give good}
Asshur ain’t saving us anymore; we’re not riding on horses now: we’re done claiming, 'You’re our gods' to our own creations, 'cause in You, orphans snag mercy.
Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, {Ye are} our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
I’ll handle their mistakes, I’ll show them love for real: my anger’s on chill mode.
I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
I’ll be like morning dew for Israel: he’ll blossom like a lily and spread his roots like the mountains of Lebanon.
I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. {grow: or, blossom} {cast...: Heb. strike}
His branches will reach out, and he’ll look stunning like an olive tree, with a fragrance of Lebanon.
His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. {spread: Heb. go}
Those chilling in his shade will return; they’ll come alive like corn and grow like vines: the scent will be like the wine of Lebanon.
They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive {as} the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof {shall be} as the wine of Lebanon. {grow: or, blossom} {scent: or, memorial}
Ephraim's gonna ask, 'What’s the deal with idols? I’ve heard of him and seen him: I’m like a fresh fir tree. Good stuff comes from me.'
Ephraim {shall say}, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard {him}, and observed him: I {am} like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
Who’s wise enough to catch this? Who’s savvy enough to get it? The Lord’s ways are fire, and the just will vibe with them: but the haters will fall flat.
Who {is} wise, and he shall understand these {things}? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD {are} right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
