Hebrews Chapter 11
Faith is the ultimate vibe check for what you're hoping for, the evidence of things that are invisible.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. {substance: or, ground, or, confidence}
The legends earned serious respect because of it.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
We understand that the universe was crafted through God's word, meaning what you see wasn't made from what’s visible.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Abel offered a fire sacrifice to God, way better than Cain's, proving he was righteous; God was like, "That’s dope!" and even though he's gone, his legacy still resonates.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. {yet...: or, is yet spoken of}
Enoch was taken away so he wouldn't experience death; they couldn't find him because God took him—he had mad charm and was all about pleasing God before he dipped.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
But for real, without faith, you can't vibe with Him: if you wanna approach God, you’ve gotta believe He exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
But without faith {it is} impossible to please {him}: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and {that} he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Noah, warned by God about things yet to come, felt the fear and built an ark to save his family; he low-key called out the world and became the GOAT of faith.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. {moved...: or, being wary}
Abraham, when he got the call to move to a place that would be his inheritance, was totally down; he just left without even knowing his destination.
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
He was vibing in the promised land like it was a foreign spot, chilling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the other heirs to that promise.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as {in} a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
He had his eyes set on a city with solid foundations, crafted by God Himself.
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker {is} God.
Sara had mad faith and gained the strength to have a child, even when her time was way past; she trusted that God was real and would keep His promises.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
From just one dude who was basically a ghost, there emerged countless peeps, like stars in the night sky and grains of sand on the shore.
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, {so many} as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
They all passed with faith, not having fully seen the promises but still vibing with them from afar, recognizing they were just passing through.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of {them}, and embraced {them}, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. {in faith: Gr. according to faith}
If you're saying stuff like that, it's clear you're searching for a new crib.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Honestly, if they had their minds on where they came from, they could've just returned.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that {country} from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
But now they're yearning for a superior home, one that’s heavenly; God’s not shy about being their God because He's got a city ready for them.
But now they desire a better {country}, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Abraham, with all that faith, faced a test and offered up Isaac; the dude who received all the promises let go of his one and only son.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten {son},
It was said that blessings would flow through Isaac's lineage.
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: {of: or, to}
He had faith that God could bring him back from the dead, so in a way, he got him back.
Accounting that God {was} able to raise {him} up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau regarding what was to come.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
By faith, Jacob was on his last vibes, blessed the sons of Joseph, and worshipped while leaning on his staff.
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, {leaning} upon the top of his staff.
By faith, Joseph, at the end of his life, shared some wisdom about Israel's future and told them what to do with his bones.
By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. {made...: or, remembered}
By faith, Moses was hidden for three months by his parents because they recognized he was a proper child; they weren't fazed by the king's commands.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw {he was} a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
By faith, Moses grew up and was like, "Nah, I'm not being called Pharaoh's daughter’s kid," straight-up savage.
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
He opted to vibe with God's people and face the struggles instead of enjoying the temporary pleasures of sin.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
He valued the hardships of Christ over the riches of Egypt because he was all about that future reward.
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. {of Christ: or, for Christ}
By faith, he bounced out of Egypt, not worried about the king's fury, because he was vibing with the unseen.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Through faith, he observed the Passover and sprinkled the blood so the destroyer wouldn't mess with them.
Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
By faith, they crossed the Red Sea like it was dry land; the Egyptians tried but ended up drowning.
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry {land}: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
By faith, the walls of Jericho came down after they marched around for seven days, which was straight-up fire.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
By faith, Rahab the vibe queen didn’t get wrecked with the non-believers because she showed mad love to the spies.
By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. {that...: or, that were disobedient}
What else can I even say? Time’s running out to spill the tea on Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets.
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and {of} Barak, and {of} Samson, and {of} Jephthae; {of} David also, and Samuel, and {of} the prophets:
These legends, through their faith, flat-out dominated kingdoms, did righteous deeds, secured promises, and shut down lions.
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
They extinguished the savage vibes of fire, dodged swords, drew strength from weakness, and flexed hard in battle, making their enemies bounce.
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women brought their people back to life, while others faced torture, but they were like, “Nah, we want that ultimate resurrection.”
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
And some faced harsh mockery and beatdowns, plus chains and jail time, all for the rizz.
And others had trial of {cruel} mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
They were stoned, sawed in half, tempted, and taken down by swords; wandering in sheepskins and goatskins, just vibing through the struggle.
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
(The world wasn’t even worthy of them:) they moved through deserts, mountains, and hid in caves, keeping it lowkey.
(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and {in} mountains, and {in} dens and caves of the earth.
All these folks, with a solid faith report, didn’t receive the promise yet.
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
God had something way better in store for us, so they couldn't be complete without us.
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. {provided: or, foreseen}
