Genesis Chapter 49
So Jacob was like, "Yo sons, pull up so I can dish out the scoop on what’s about to happen in the end times."
And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you {that} which shall befall you in the last days.
Gather around, listen close, sons of Jacob; lend an ear to your pops Israel.
Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.
Reuben, you’re my first kid, my powerhouse, the start of my legacy, pure vibes.
Reuben, thou {art} my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
But you’re as unsteady as water; you won’t shine because you played yourself with my bed.
Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou {it}: he went up to my couch. {thou shalt...: Heb. do not thou excel} {he went...: or, my couch is gone}
Simeon and Levi are tight; they’re lowkey brutal with their chaos.
Simeon and Levi {are} brethren; instruments of cruelty {are in} their habitations. {instruments...: or, their swords are weapons of violence}
My soul is like, nah, I’m not rocking with their squad; they bring mad rage and drama.
O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. {digged...: or, houghed oxen}
Their fury is cursed, it’s savage and rough; I’m dividing them up in Jacob, spreading them out in Israel.
Cursed {be} their anger, for {it was} fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
Judah, you’re the one the fam’s gonna back; you’ll have your foes on lock.
Judah, thou {art he} whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand {shall be} in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
Judah’s like a lion’s cub; you’re rising above the prey, chilling like a lion; who’s bold enough to cross him?
Judah {is} a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
The scepter’s sticking with Judah, and the law won’t budge until Shiloh comes; everyone’s gonna crowd around him.
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him {shall} the gathering of the people {be}.
He’s tying his foal to the vine, and his donkey's colt to the finest vine; he’s drippin’ all wine-stained, like he’s vibing with some grape juice.
Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass's colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
His eyes gonna be red from the wine, and his teeth all bright white from the milk.
His eyes {shall be} red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
Zebulun’s vibing by the sea, creating a whole mood for ships; his land goes all the way to Zidon.
Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he {shall be} for an haven of ships; and his border {shall be} unto Zidon.
Issachar is a sturdy donkey, just chilling between two loads, no cap.
Issachar {is} a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
He noticed that resting was dope, and the land looked sweet; he put in the effort and became a servant, for real.
And he saw that rest {was} good, and the land that {it was} pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
Dan’s gonna judge his crew, just like the other Israel tribes do.
Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
Dan’s like a crafty snake on the path, nipping at horse heels, causing the rider to stumble, fr.
Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. {an adder: Heb. an arrow-snake}
I’ve been waiting for your deliverance, God, periodt.
I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
Gad’s got a crew that might come for him, but he’ll bounce back at the end, no cap.
Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
Asher’s bread gonna be all rich, serving up those royal treats, that’s bussin.
Out of Asher his bread {shall be} fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
Naphtali's got that freedom energy, always dropping knowledge.
Naphtali {is} a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
Joseph's like a fire tree by the well, branches just vibin' over the wall.
Joseph {is} a fruitful bough, {even} a fruitful bough by a well; {whose} branches run over the wall: {branches: Heb. daughters}
The archers came for him, throwing shade and hating hard.
The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot {at him}, and hated him:
But his bow stayed tough, powered up by the one true God, the GOAT of Jacob.
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty {God} of Jacob; (from thence {is} the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Your pops' God got your back, and the Almighty’s ready to shower you with blessings from the heavens and the deep.
{Even} by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
Your dad's blessings are on a whole different level, way above the fam blessings, they’re on Joseph’s head, shining like a crown.
The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
Benjamin's a wolf, hungry in the morning, feasting at night like a champ.
Benjamin shall ravin {as} a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
These are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is the blessing their dad dropped on them, each one getting their own hype.
All these {are} the twelve tribes of Israel: and this {is it} that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
He told them, "I’m about to join my people, so lay me to rest with my fam in the cave at Ephron's field."
And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that {is} in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
In the cave at Machpelah, near Mamre, in Canaan, which Abraham snagged for a burial spot.
In the cave that {is} in the field of Machpelah, which {is} before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace.
They laid Abraham and Sarah to rest there, also Isaac and Rebekah, and yeah, I buried Leah too.
There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah.
The land and cave were bought from the Heth fam, no cap.
The purchase of the field and of the cave that {is} therein {was} from the children of Heth.
After dropping some final vibes, Jacob laid back in bed, let go, and joined his crew.
And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
