Ezekiel Chapter 12
The word of the Lord slid into my DMs, saying,
The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
Ayo, son of man, you’re surrounded by a straight-up sus crew, they got peepers but can’t peep, ears but can’t hear. They’re just mad rebellious.
Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they {are} a rebellious house.
So, son of man, get your gear ready to dip, and do it in front of them; you’re shifting from one spot to another, maybe they’ll finally wake up, even though they’re wildin’.
Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they {be} a rebellious house. {stuff: or, instruments}
Show your stuff during the day for them to catch a glimpse, like you’re moving out; then at night, sneak out like you’re headed into the wilderness.
Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity. {as they...: Heb. as the goings forth of captivity}
Break through the wall where they can peep you, and take your goods outside.
Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby. {Dig...: Heb. Dig for thee}
Carry it on your shoulders where they can see, and do it at dusk: cover your face so you don’t catch a glimpse of the ground, 'cause I made you a sign for the house of Israel.
In their sight shalt thou bear {it} upon {thy} shoulders, {and} carry {it} forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee {for} a sign unto the house of Israel.
And I did what I was told: I took my stuff out during the day, like I was going into captivity, and at night, I dug through the wall with my hands; I brought it out at twilight, carrying it on my shoulder right in front of them.
And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought {it} forth in the twilight, {and} I bare {it} upon {my} shoulder in their sight. {digged: Heb. digged for me}
In the morning, the word of the Lord hit me again, saying,
And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
Ayo, son of man, didn’t the house of Israel, that rebellious crew, ask you, “What’s the deal?”
Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
Tell them this: The Lord God says, this burden is about the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel chillin' with them.
Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden {concerneth} the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that {are} among them.
Say, I’m your sign: just like I did, that’s how it’s gonna go down for them too; they’re gonna bounce and get taken away, no cap.
Say, I {am} your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove {and} go into captivity. {they...: Heb. by removing go into captivity}
And the prince among them is gonna haul his stuff on his shoulder at dusk, pop off and dig through the wall to get out; he’s gonna cover his face so he doesn’t peep the ground, fr.
And the prince that {is} among them shall bear upon {his} shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with {his} eyes.
I’m gonna cast my net on him, and he’s gonna get snagged in my trap; I’ll send him to Babylon, to the land of the Chaldeans; but he won’t even see it before he kicks the bucket there.
My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon {to} the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
I’ll scatter everyone around him to help him, and all his crew; and I’ll pull out the sword after them, vibes.
And I will scatter toward every wind all that {are} about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
They’ll know I’m the Lord when I scatter them among the nations and spread them out in different places, periodt.
And they shall know that I {am} the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
But I’ll leave a few of them from the sword, famine, and sickness; so they can spill the tea about all their wild stuff among the nations they wind up in; and they’ll know I’m the Lord.
But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I {am} the LORD. {a few...: Heb. men of number}
Then the word of the Lord hit me, saying,
Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ayo, son of man, munch your bread with some nervous energy, and sip your water with a side of caution, fr.
Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
And tell the people of the land, this is what the Lord God of Jerusalem and Israel says; they’ll munch their bread carefully and sip their water in shock, ‘cause the land’s gonna be empty from all the chaos caused by everyone living there.
And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, {and} of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein. {all that...: Heb. the fulness thereof}
And the cities that are still standing will be wrecked, and the land will be barren; and you’ll know I’m the Lord.
And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I {am} the LORD.
So the vibe check from the Lord hit me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Ayo, son of man, what’s good with that saying in Israel? Like, “The days are long, and every vision flops?”
Son of man, what {is} that proverb {that} ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
Tell ‘em this: The Lord God’s got you! This saying is donezo, and they won’t use it anymore in Israel; instead, say, “The days are here, and every vision is about to pop off.”
Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
No more fake visions or smooth talk in Israel’s crib.
For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
I’m the Lord, and I’m about to drop some knowledge; what I say is gonna happen, no cap: in your time, you rebellious crew, I’m gonna speak and make it lit, says the Lord God.
For I {am} the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
Again, the Lord hit me up, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Ayo, son of man, peep this, the people in Israel are saying, “The vision he sees is ages away, and he’s prophesying about stuff that’s mad far off.”
Son of man, behold, {they of} the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth {is} for many days {to come}, and he prophesieth of the times {that are} far off.
So tell ‘em this: The Lord God says, none of my words are gonna be delayed anymore; what I’ve said is gonna be done, says the Lord God.
Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
