Exodus Chapter 13
So the Lord hit up Moses, saying,
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Set apart all the firstborn, whatever pops outta the womb among the Israelites, both human and animal: it's all mine, fr.
Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, {both} of man and of beast: it {is} mine.
Moses told the squad, "Keep this day in mind, when we dipped outta Egypt, from the crib of struggle; the Lord flexed hard to get us outta here: no leavened bread allowed."
And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this {place}: there shall no leavened bread be eaten. {bondage: Heb. servants}
This is the day we bounced in the month of Abib.
This day came ye out in the month Abib.
When the Lord takes you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which He promised to your fam, a land flowing with milk and honey, you gotta keep this vibe this month.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
For seven days, munch on that unleavened bread, and on the seventh day, throw a feast for the Lord.
Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day {shall be} a feast to the LORD.
Unleavened bread for seven days; not a crumb of leavened bread should be seen with you.
Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
And on that day, tell your son, "This is what went down thanks to what the Lord did when we dipped from Egypt."
And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, {This is done} because of that {which} the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
It’ll be a sign on your hand and a reminder between your eyes, so the Lord's law stays in your mouth: the Lord pulled us outta Egypt with serious strength.
And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
So keep this rule during its time, year after year.
Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.
When the Lord brings you to the land of the Canaanites, just as He promised to you and your fam, and gives it to you,
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
Set apart for the Lord everything that opens the womb, and every firstborn animal you have; the males belong to the Lord.
That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males {shall be} the LORD'S. {set...: Heb. cause to pass over}
Redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb; if you skip that, break its neck: and all the firstborn of your kids, you gotta redeem them.
And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem. {lamb: or, kid}
When your son asks you later, "What’s this all about?" you’ll say, "The Lord pulled us outta Egypt with mad strength, from the crib of struggle."
And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What {is} this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: {in...: Heb. to morrow}
And when Pharaoh was being sus and wouldn’t let us go, the Lord took out all the firstborn in Egypt, both human and animal: so I sacrifice to the Lord everything that opens the womb, being males; but I redeem all my kids.
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.
This will be a token on your hand, and a reminder between your eyes: the Lord brought us outta Egypt with serious strength.
And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
When Pharaoh finally let the crew go, God didn’t take them through the Philistines’ land, even though it was closer; God was like, "What if they see war and wanna bounce back to Egypt?"
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not {through} the way of the land of the Philistines, although that {was} near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
So God led the people through the wilderness by the Red Sea: and the Israelites were ready to roll outta Egypt.
But God led the people about, {through} the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. {harnessed: or, by five in a rank}
Moses took Joseph's bones with him: he had sworn to the Israelites, saying, "God will definitely visit you; and you gotta take my bones with you."
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
They kicked off their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham, right on the edge of the wilderness.
And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
And the Lord was guiding them by day with a cloud pillar to show them the way; and by night with a fire pillar to give them light, so they could roll day and night.
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
He didn’t take away the cloud pillar by day or the fire pillar by night from in front of the people.
He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, {from} before the people.
