Ecclesiastes Chapter 5
Chill out when you hit up God's spot, and vibe more with listening instead of yakking; fools out here don’t even realize they’re being sus.
Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Keep your words in check, and don’t let your heart get all hyped to spill tea before God; He’s up there, you’re down here, so keep it low-key.
Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter {any} thing before God: for God {is} in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. {thing: or, word}
Hustle births dreams, and a fool’s noise is loud and blatant, no cap.
For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice {is known} by multitude of words.
If you promise God something, don’t ghost on it; He ain't into fools, so keep it 100.
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for {he hath} no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
Way better to skip the promise than to say you will and bounce, fr.
Better {is it} that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
Watch your mouth before it gets you in a bind; don’t be like, “Oops” to the angel; why should God be upset with your words and ruin your vibe?
Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it {was} an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Too many dreams and all that chatter can just be a waste; just keep it real with the big guy.
For in the multitude of dreams and many words {there are} also {divers} vanities: but fear thou God.
When you peep the poor getting played and justice tossed aside, don’t stress; there’s a higher power keeping tabs on everything, periodt.
If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for {he that is} higher than the highest regardeth; and {there be} higher than they. {at the... Heb. at the will, or, purpose}
The goods of the earth are for everyone; even the king's gotta munch on the land.
Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king {himself} is served by the field.
Chasing after paper won’t satisfy you; loving the hustle won’t bring in more; that’s just a waste, no cap.
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this {is} also vanity.
When stuff stacks up, more folks show up to feast; what’s the point if you’re just a spectator?
When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good {is there} to the owners thereof, saving the beholding {of them} with their eyes?
A grindin' worker’s sleep hits different, whether they snack on a little or a lot; but rich folks can’t catch Z’s, fr.
The sleep of a labouring man {is} sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
I’ve seen some wild stuff under the sun: riches held tight just cause pain for their owners.
There is a sore evil {which} I have seen under the sun, {namely}, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
But those riches dip when hard times hit; he’s got a kid but nothing to pass down.
But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and {there is} nothing in his hand.
He showed up in the world with nada and leaves the same way, taking none of his hustle with him.
As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
This is a harsh truth: just as he arrived, he exits; what’s the point if you grinded for nothing?
And this also {is} a sore evil, {that} in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?
He spends his days munching in the dark, filled with mad sorrow and stress from his struggles.
All his days also he eateth in darkness, and {he hath} much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.
Peep this: it’s lit to eat, drink, and enjoy the fruits of your hustle while you vibe under the sun; that’s your share from God.
Behold {that} which I have seen: {it is} good and comely {for one} to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it {is} his portion. {It is good...: Heb. there is a good which is comely, etc} {all the days: Heb. the number of the days}
Every dude God blesses with wealth and gives the ability to enjoy it and be happy with his hustle; that’s a straight-up gift from the big man.
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this {is} the gift of God.
He won’t recall much of his days because God fills his heart with mad joy.
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth {him} in the joy of his heart. {For...: or, Though he give not much, yet he remembereth, etc}
