Deuteronomy Chapter 6
Yo, check it, these are the guidelines, the vibes, and the calls straight from the Lord, so you can flex them in the land you’re about to claim:
Now these {are} the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do {them} in the land whither ye go to possess it: {go: Heb. pass over}
You gotta honor the Lord your God, stick to all His rules and commands for you and your squad, so your days can be fire and last long.
That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
Yo, Israel! Do what’s right so you can chill and thrive, just like the Lord promised in that land flowing with milk and honey.
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do {it}; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Ayo, Israel: Our God is one, no joke.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God {is} one LORD:
Show mad love to the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and energy, for real.
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Keep these words I’m dropping today tight to your heart, no cap.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
School your kids on these, chat about them when you’re chilling at home, on the move, when you hit the sack, and when you rise up.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. {teach: Heb. whet, or, sharpen}
Wrap them around your hands as a sign and keep them in your line of sight.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Sketch them on your doorposts and gates, make it known.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
When the Lord drops you into the land He promised your ancestors, with dope cities you didn’t build, that’s a major win.
And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
And houses stacked with all the solid stuff you didn’t even provide, wells you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees you didn’t plant; enjoy it all when you’re chilling.
And houses full of all good {things}, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
But don’t sleep on the Lord who pulled you outta Egypt, from that struggle zone.
{Then} beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. {bondage: Heb. bondmen or, servants}
Respect the Lord your God, serve Him, and swear by His name, that’s the play.
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Don’t go after other gods, the ones around you; that’s straight sus.
Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which {are} round about you;
(The Lord your God is a jealous God) or else His anger might light up against you, and you’ll be outta here.
(For the LORD thy God {is} a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Don’t put the Lord your God to the test like you did back in Massah, that’s not the move.
Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted {him} in Massah.
Hold tight to the Lord’s commands, His testimonies, and statutes like it’s your lifeline, ‘cause it kinda is.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
Do what’s right in the Lord’s eyes so you can vibe well and grab the good land He promised your fam.
And thou shalt do {that which is} right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,
He’s got your back to boot out all your enemies, just like He said.
To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.
When your kid asks what these rules and testimonies mean, spill the tea.
{And} when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What {mean} the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? {in...: Heb. to morrow}
Tell your kid, “We were slaves in Egypt, and the Lord flexed on us and brought us out with mad power.”
Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
The Lord showed insane signs and wonders in Egypt, on Pharaoh and his whole squad, right in front of us.
And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: {sore: Heb. evil}
He brought us out so He could bring us in and hand us the land He promised our ancestors.
And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.
The Lord told us to stick to these rules, respect Him, for our own good, so we stay alive, just like today.
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as {it is} at this day.
If we keep all these commands before the Lord our God as He instructed us, that’s our righteousness, periodt.
And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
