Daniel Chapter 2
In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign, the dude had some trippy dreams that totally messed with his head, making it impossible to catch any Z's, for real.
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
So the king was like, "Ayo, summon all the magicians, astrologers, and sorcerers; we need to decode this dream." They showed up and stood in front of him.
Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
He told them, "I had this wild dream that has my mind all twisted. I need to know what the deal is."
And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
The Chaldeans responded, "O king, live forever! Just tell us the dream, and we’ll drop the knowledge on what it means."
Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. {O king...: (Chaldee, to the end of chapter seven}
The king shot back, "Nah, I can’t remember the dream. If you don’t tell me what it was and what it means, it’s curtains for you, and your places will be wrecked."
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. {cut...: Chaldee, made pieces}
"But if you do tell me the dream and its meaning, I’ll bless you with gifts and mad respect. So let’s hear it."
But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof. {rewards: or, fee}
They said, "Just spill the dream, and we’ll hit you with the interpretation, no cap."
They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.
The king was like, "I know you’re just stalling because you can’t peep the dream I had."
The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me. {gain: Chaldee, buy}
"But if you can’t reveal the dream, here’s the real deal: I know you’re just serving sus excuses to buy time. So spill it, and I’ll know you can actually interpret it."
But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, {there is but} one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
The Chaldeans responded, "There’s no person on this planet who can break this down for you, king. No ruler, lord, or king has ever demanded this from any magician or astrologer, periodt."
The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore {there is} no king, lord, nor ruler, {that} asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
The king’s request is super unique, and no one can spill the tea except for the gods, who don’t vibe with mortals.
And {it is} a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
The king was furious and commanded that all the wise men in Babylon be executed, no cap.
For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise {men} of Babylon.
So the decree went out that the wise men should be executed; they were on a mission to find Daniel and his crew for the same fate.
And the decree went forth that the wise {men} should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
Daniel stepped in with some wisdom and gave advice to Arioch, the king’s enforcer, who was tasked with wiping out the wise men.
Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise {men} of Babylon: {answered...: Chaldee, returned} {captain...: or, chief marshal: Chaldee, chief of the executioners, or, slaughtermen}
He was like, "Yo Arioch, what’s up with the king's crazy order?" Arioch then filled Daniel in on what was popping.
He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why {is} the decree {so} hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
Daniel went in and asked the king for some time to drop the interpretation, periodt.
Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
Then Daniel bounced back to his crib and told his homies Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what was going down.
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
They all prayed for mercy from the God of heaven regarding this secret, hoping they wouldn't go down with the other wise men.
That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise {men} of Babylon. {of the God: Chaldee, from before God} {that Daniel...: or, that they should not destroy Daniel, etc}
Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision, and Daniel was all about giving thanks to the God of heaven.
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
He said, "Big ups to God’s name forever; wisdom and power are totally his vibe."
Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
He changes times and seasons, brings down kings and raises them up: he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who grasp it, no cap.
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He reveals deep and hidden things: he knows what’s in the darkness, and the light vibes with him.
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what {is} in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
I’m thankful and hyped, O God of my peeps, who blessed me with wisdom and might, and revealed what we asked for: you let us in on the king’s dreams.
I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast {now} made known unto us the king's matter.
So Daniel rolled up to Arioch, the dude the king put in charge of taking out the wise men of Babylon, and said, "Don’t take out the wise guys, fam: take me to the king, and I’ll break down the dream."
Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise {men} of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise {men} of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
Arioch was quick to bring Daniel to the king and said, "I found a dude from Judah who can interpret this for you."
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation. {I have...: Chaldee, That I have found} {captives...: Chaldee, children of the captivity of Judah}
The king was like, "Yo Daniel, aka Belteshazzar, can you tell me the dream I had and what it means?"
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name {was} Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
Daniel spoke up in front of the king, "The secret you want? The wise men, astrologers, and magicians can’t help you with that, fr."
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise {men}, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
But there’s a God in heaven who reveals mysteries and is about to let King Nebuchadnezzar know what’s gonna happen next. Your dream and the visions you had while chilling in bed are these.
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; {maketh...: Chaldee, hath made known}
As for you, king, your thoughts came to you while you were chilling in bed about what’s coming next: and the one who reveals secrets is about to let you know what’s ahead.
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came {into thy mind} upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass. {came: Chaldee, came up}
But for me, this secret wasn’t revealed 'cause I’m smarter than anyone else; it’s for the sake of those who will explain to the king the meaning, so you can understand what’s on your mind.
But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for {any} wisdom that I have more than any living, but for {their} sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. {but for...: or, but for the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king}
Yo king, you saw that huge statue? It was blinging hard but had lowkey scary vibes.
Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness {was} excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof {was} terrible. {sawest: Chaldee, wast seeing}
The head was made of solid gold, the chest and arms were silver, and the belly and thighs were all brass, no cap.
This image's head {was} of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, {thighs: or, sides}
Legs were iron, and the feet were a mix of iron and clay, kinda sus.
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
You saw a stone just pop outta nowhere and smashed the statue’s feet, breaking it all apart.
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet {that were} of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. {without...: or, which was not in hands}
Then all that iron, clay, brass, silver, and gold shattered like summer dust, and the wind just took it away. That stone turned into a giant mountain, filling the whole earth.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
This is the dream, and we’re about to drop the meaning for you, king.
This {is} the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
You, king, are the ultimate ruler: God in heaven blessed you with a kingdom, power, strength, and glory, straight up goated.
Thou, O king, {art} a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
Wherever people chill, all the animals and birds are under your control; you’re the head of gold, fr.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou {art} this head of gold.
After you, another kingdom will rise that’s not as lit, then a third one made of brass that will rule over the whole earth.
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
The fourth kingdom is gonna be as strong as iron, breaking everything in its path, just like iron does, no cap.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all {things}: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
You saw the feet and toes, part clay and part iron, so this kingdom's gonna be split; it’s got some iron strength, no cap, since you saw that iron mixed with muddy clay.
And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
The toes were part iron, part clay, so this kingdom's gonna be kinda strong, but also kinda broken, fr.
And {as} the toes of the feet {were} part of iron, and part of clay, {so} the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. {broken: or, brittle}
You saw iron mixed with muddy clay, and they’ll vibe with the people, but they won’t stick together, just like iron doesn't mix with clay, periodt.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. {one...: Chaldee, this with this}
In the days of these kings, the God of heaven's gonna set up a kingdom that can’t be wrecked; it won’t be given to others, it’ll crush all these kingdoms, and it’ll stand forever, lit.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, {but} it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. {the days: Chaldee, their days} {the kingdom: Chaldee, the kingdom thereof}
You saw that stone cut from the mountain without hands, smashing the iron, brass, clay, silver, and gold; the great God let the king know what’s gonna happen next: the dream is real, and the interpretation is solid.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream {is} certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. {without...: or, which was not in hands} {hereafter: Chaldee, after this}
Then King Nebuchadnezzar hit the floor and worshipped Daniel, telling them to offer him some sweet vibes and gifts.
Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
The king told Daniel, "For real, your God is the GOAT of gods, Lord of kings, and reveals secrets, since you could spill this tea."
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth {it is}, that your God {is} a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Then the king made Daniel a big deal, blessed him with mad gifts, made him ruler over all Babylon, and chief of the wise guys there, no cap.
Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise {men} of Babylon.
Daniel asked the king, and he put Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in charge of Babylon’s affairs, but Daniel chilled at the king’s gate.
Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel {sat} in the gate of the king.
