Psalms Chapter 9
I'm about to hype you up, Lord, with everything I got; gotta showcase all your epic deeds.
[To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David.] I will praise {thee}, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
I’m feeling you hard: I’ll sing your praises, O highest of highs.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
When my foes dip out, they’ll be eating dust in your presence, no cap.
When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
You’ve got my back, judging straight from your throne; that’s legendary.
For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right. {maintained...: Heb. made my judgment} {judging right: Heb. judging in righteousness}
You’ve called out the sus folks, wiped the wicked away, and their names are erased for good.
Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
Hey, enemy, your downfall is sealed; you’ve wrecked cities, and now they’re just memories.
O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. {O thou...: or, The destructions of the enemy are come to a perpetual end: and their cities hast thou destroyed, etc}
But the Lord’s gonna stick around for eternity: he’s got his throne set for judgment vibes.
But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
He’ll judge the world with solid righteousness, delivering that good justice to the people.
And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
The Lord’s a safe haven for the oppressed, always showing up when things get rough.
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. {a refuge: Heb. an high place}
Those who vibe with your name will rely on you: you, Lord, never ghost those who seek you out.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
Blast it out for the Lord chilling in Zion: let everyone know about your doings.
Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
When he checks for blood, he remembers: he doesn’t forget the cries of the lowly.
When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble. {humble: or, afflicted}
Show me some grace, Lord; peep my struggles from the haters; lift me up from the gates of death.
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble {which I suffer} of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
So I can shout your praises at the gates of Zion’s daughter: I’ll be hyped for your rescue.
That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
The sus are stuck in their own mess: the trap they set caught their own foot.
The heathen are sunk down in the pit {that} they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
The Lord’s known for the judgment he deals out: the wicked are caught in their own snare. Higgaion. Selah.
The LORD is known {by} the judgment {which} he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. {Higgaion: that is, Meditation}
The wicked are heading to the bad spot, along with all the nations that forget God.
The wicked shall be turned into hell, {and} all the nations that forget God.
The needy won’t be left behind forever: the hopes of the poor won’t disappear.
For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall {not} perish for ever.
Rise up, Lord; don’t let mere humans win: let the nations be judged in your presence.
Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
Make them feel that fear, Lord: so the nations know they’re just human. Selah.
Put them in fear, O LORD: {that} the nations may know themselves {to be but} men. Selah.
