Psalms Chapter 85
Ayo, Lord, you’ve been chilling with your land: you brought Jacob back from the grind.
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.] LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. {for the sons: or, of the sons} {favourable: or, well pleased}
You let your crew off the hook for their mess-ups, covered all their mistakes. No cap.
Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
You wiped out all your fury: you cooled it on the rage.
Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned {thyself} from the fierceness of thine anger. {thyself...: or, thine anger from waxing hot}
Flip us around, God of our deliverance, and let your anger chill out.
Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
You really gonna stay mad at us forever? Like, are we stuck with this heat for generations?
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
Are you not gonna breathe new life into us again so your people can vibe in joy?
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Show us your kindness, Lord, and bless us with that salvation.
Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
I’m about to tune in to what God, the Lord, has to say: He’s all about that peace for his folks and the saints; just don’t let them slide back into being sus.
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
For real, his salvation is tight with those who respect him; that glory can hang in our land.
Surely his salvation {is} nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Mercy and truth are vibing together; righteousness and peace are like homies.
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed {each other}.
Truth’s gonna rise up from the earth; righteousness will gaze down from the heavens.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Facts, the Lord will drop some solid blessings; our land will bring forth the good vibes.
Yea, the LORD shall give {that which is} good; and our land shall yield her increase.
Righteousness is gonna clear the way; it’ll guide us on the path of his footsteps.
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set {us} in the way of his steps.
