Psalms Chapter 31
Ayo, I’m putting my trust in you, Lord; don’t leave me hanging, fr. Rescue me with your charm.
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
So, Lord, come through fast; be my solid foundation, my safe haven.
Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. {my...: Heb. to me for a rock of strength}
You’re my fortress and rock; for your name’s vibes, guide and direct me.
For thou {art} my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Get me outta the snare they set; you’re my strength, no cap.
Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou {art} my strength.
I’m giving you my spirit, Lord; you’ve rescued me, God of truth.
Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
I can’t vibe with those who chase falsehoods; I’m all about the Lord.
I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
I’m vibin’ on your mercy; you’ve peeped my struggles; you know my soul’s hurt.
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
You haven’t left me in the hands of my foes; you’ve placed my feet on solid ground.
And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
Show me some mercy, Lord; I’m in a rough spot: my eyes are heavy with sorrow, and my soul and body are down.
Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, {yea}, my soul and my belly.
My life’s been a saga of pain, and I’m sighing hard: my strength’s dipping 'cause of my fails, and my bones are wrecked.
For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
I’m a straight-up meme to my enemies, especially my neighbors, and they dip when they see me.
I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
I’m forgotten like a specter: just a shattered vessel out here.
I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. {a broken...: Heb. a vessel that perisheth}
I’ve caught all the chatter: fear’s lurking; they’re scheming to take me out.
For I have heard the slander of many: fear {was} on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
But I’m banking on you, Lord: I said, you’re my God.
But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou {art} my God.
My life’s in your grip: save me from my foes and those on my tail.
My times {are} in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
Let your face shine on me, your servant: rescue me for the sake of your mercy.
Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
Don’t let me feel ashamed, Lord; I called out to you: let the wicked wear that shame and stay silent in the grave.
Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, {and} let them be silent in the grave. {silent...: or, cut off for}
Shut down the deceitful mouths that talk rough and loud against the good ones.
Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. {grievous...: Heb. a hard thing}
Your goodness is legendary, saved up for those who fear you; you’ve done epic things for those who trust you before others.
{Oh} how great {is} thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; {which} thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
You’ll shield them in your hidden place from the arrogant; you’ll keep them safe from the chaos.
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Props to the Lord: he’s shown me his incredible kindness in a strong city.
Blessed {be} the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. {strong: or, fenced}
I panicked and thought I was cut off from you, but you heard my cries, for real.
For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
Show love to the Lord, all you saints: he stays true with the loyal and rewards the brave.
O love the LORD, all ye his saints: {for} the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Stay strong, and he’ll lift your heart, all you who put your hope in the Lord.
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
