Psalms Chapter 132
Ayo, Lord, don’t overlook David and all that he’s dealt with, fr:
A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, {and} all his afflictions:
How he made a promise to you, God, and pledged to the ultimate flex, the God of Jacob;
How he sware unto the LORD, {and} vowed unto the mighty {God} of Jacob;
No cap, I won’t even chill at my pad or hit the hay;
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
I can’t even catch some Zs or drift off,
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, {or} slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find a crib for the Lord, a spot for the legendary God of Jacob.
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty {God} of Jacob. {an habitation: Heb. habitations}
For real, we caught wind of it in Ephratah: discovered it in the forest, straight vibes.
Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
We’re rolling up to his tabernacles: about to worship at his footstool, periodt.
We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
Step up, Lord, into your hangout; you and the ark of your power.
Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.
Let your priests flex that righteousness; let your saints vibe with joy, it’s lit.
Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
For David’s sake, don’t turn away from your chosen one, fam.
For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
The Lord made a promise to David, and he’s keeping it; I’ll place your descendants on the throne, no cap.
The LORD hath sworn {in} truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. {body: Heb. belly}
If your kids stick to my covenant and the teachings I pass down, their kids will reign forever, fr.
If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
The Lord picked Zion; he’s vibing with it as his home base.
For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired {it} for his habitation.
This is my permanent chill zone: I’ll stay here ‘cause I wanted it.
This {is} my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
I’m gonna bless her with mad blessings: I’ll hook up the needy with bread, it’s bussin.
I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. {abundantly: or, surely}
I’ll also hook her priests up with salvation: her saints will shout for joy.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
That’s where I’ll make David’s horn blast off: I’ve got a lamp waiting for my chosen one.
There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. {lamp: or, candle}
His foes will be draped in shame: but his crown is gonna shine bright.
His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
