Proverbs Chapter 28
The wicked be bouncin' when no one’s coming for them: but the righteous are bold like a lion, no cap.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
When a land's trippin', there are mad rulers, but a wise dude keeps it chill and extends the vibes.
For the transgression of a land many {are} the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding {and} knowledge the state {thereof} shall be prolonged. {by...: or, by men of understanding and wisdom shall they likewise be prolonged}
A broke dude who messes with the poor is like a rainstorm that leaves no snacks, fr.
A poor man that oppresseth the poor {is like} a sweeping rain which leaveth no food. {which...: Heb. without food}
Those who ditch the law are all about the wicked vibes: but those who follow the law are ready to pop off.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
Evil peeps don’t get what’s right: but those who chase after the Lord are woke to everything.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all {things}.
Better to be a broke dude walking straight than a rich one being sus in his ways.
Better {is} the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than {he that is} perverse {in his} ways, though he {be} rich.
Whoever keeps the law is a wise son: but rolling with wild peeps just brings shame, periodt.
Whoso keepeth the law {is} a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous {men} shameth his father. {is a companion...: or, feedeth gluttons}
If you stack cash through shady deals, you’re just gonna hand it over to someone who cares for the poor.
He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. {unjust...: Heb. by increase}
If you shut your ears to the law, even your prayers are straight-up sus.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer {shall be} abomination.
Whoever leads the righteous astray in a bad way is gonna fall into their own trap: but the straight-up will be blessed.
Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good {things} in possession.
The rich dude thinks he's all that, but the poor with smarts is out here finding the real ones.
The rich man {is} wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. {own...: Heb. eyes}
When the good peeps celebrate, it's a whole vibe; but when the bad guys rise up, people be lowkey hiding.
When righteous {men} do rejoice, {there is} great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. {hidden: or, sought for}
If you try to cover your sins, you ain't gonna win; but if you own up and let go, mercy's on deck.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh {them} shall have mercy.
The dude who’s always on edge is chillin’; but the one with a hard heart is just asking for trouble, fr.
Happy {is} the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
A wicked ruler is like a roaring lion or a bear on the prowl, straight up savage to the poor.
{As} a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; {so is} a wicked ruler over the poor people.
A prince who lacks smarts is just a big oppressor; but the one who hates greed will live long, no cap.
The prince that wanteth understanding {is} also a great oppressor: {but} he that hateth covetousness shall prolong {his} days.
A guy who spills blood is just running to his doom; don’t even try to stop him.
A man that doeth violence to the blood of {any} person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
Whoever walks straight will be good, but the one who's sus in their ways is gonna fall, periodt.
Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but {he that is} perverse {in his} ways shall fall at once.
The one who works his land will have bread for days; but chasing after fakes will leave you broke.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain {persons} shall have poverty enough.
A loyal dude is gonna be blessed up; but rushing to get rich? You ain't innocent, my guy.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. {innocent: or, unpunished}
Respecting peeps ain't it, fam; people will cross lines for just a crumb of bread.
To have respect of persons {is} not good: for for a piece of bread {that} man will transgress.
Chasing that cash too fast? That's sus, and poverty's gonna hit you hard, no cap.
He that hasteth to be rich {hath} an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. {hasteth...: or, hath an evil eye hasteth to be rich}
If you call someone out later, you'll get more respect than hyping them up with sweet talk.
He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
If you rob your fam and think it’s chill, you’re basically vibing with a destroyer, fr.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, {It is} no transgression; the same {is} the companion of a destroyer. {a destroyer: Heb. a man destroying}
A proud heart just stirs up drama, but trusting in the Lord? That’s how you get blessed, periodt.
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
Trusting your own heart? Major fool energy; but walking wise? You’ll be straight-up saved.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Giving to the poor? You won’t be lacking; but turning a blind eye? Expect mad curses.
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
When the wicked rise, everyone ducks; but when they fall, the good peeps just thrive.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
