Yo mountains, vibe with the Lord’s drama, and you solid foundations of the earth: God’s got a problem with His crew, and He’s about to lay it out with Israel.
Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
So my crew, what’s the sitch? What did I do to wear you out? Spill the tea on me.
O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
I yanked you outta Egypt, freed you from being slaves; I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to vibe with you.
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
Yo, my peeps, don’t forget what Balak, the Moab king, was on about and what Balaam said from Shittim to Gilgal; that you know the Lord’s game.
O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.
How should I roll up to the Lord? Should I bow down with burnt offerings or young calves?
Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, {and} bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? {of a...: Heb. sons of a year?}
Is the Lord gonna be pumped with thousands of rams or loads of oil? Should I offer up my firstborn for my mess-ups, the fruit of my body for my soul’s wrongs?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, {or} with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn {for} my transgression, the fruit of my body {for} the sin of my soul? {body: Heb. belly}
He laid it out for you, fam, what’s solid; the Lord just wants you to keep it real, love mercy, and stroll humble with your God.

The Lord’s calling to the city, and wise peeps will recognize your name: heed the rod and who set it up.

Therefore also will I make {thee} sick in smiting thee, in making {thee} desolate because of thy sins.
You’ll eat but still be hungry; you’ll feel down, and whatever you snag won’t help; what you do get, I’ll hand over to the sword.
Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down {shall be} in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and {that} which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
You’ll plant, but won’t reap; you’ll tread olives, but won’t get that oil; you’ll have sweet wine, but won’t sip on it.
Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.
For the laws of Omri are still in play, and you’re vibing with Ahab's crew; I’ll make you a wasteland, and the people will hiss at you: you’ll carry the shame of my peeps.
For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. {For the...: or, For he doth much keep the, etc} {desolation: or, astonishment}
