Leviticus Chapter 1
So the Lord was hitting up Moses, speaking to him from the tabernacle, saying,
And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
Vibe check: tell the crew of Israel, if anyone feels like bringing an offering to the Lord, they gotta bring some cattle from the herd or the flock.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, {even} of the herd, and of the flock.
When you’re bringing a burnt offering from the herd, make sure it’s a flawless male: you gotta present it at the tabernacle's entrance, no cap.
If his offering {be} a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
He’s gonna lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering; it’ll be accepted to clear things up for him.
And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
He’s gonna pull up with the bull in front of the Lord: Aaron’s dudes, the priests, will sprinkle the blood all around the altar by the tabernacle entry.
And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that {is by} the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
He’s gonna skin the burnt offering and chop it into pieces.
And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
Aaron’s sons, the priests, will throw some fire on the altar and stack the wood all nice.
And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
The priests are gonna set the parts, the head and the fat on the wood that’s blazing on the altar: it's gonna be lit.
And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that {is} on the fire which {is} upon the altar:
But he’s got to wash the insides and legs in water: the priest will incinerate everything on the altar, making it a burnt offering, a sweet vibe for the Lord.
But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, {to be} a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
If he’s offering from the flocks, like sheep or goats for a burnt sacrifice, he’s gotta bring a male without any flaws.
And if his offering {be} of the flocks, {namely}, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
He’s gonna take it out on the north side of the altar before the Lord: Aaron’s sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar.
And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
He’s gonna chop it into pieces, with its head and fat: the priest will lay them on the wood that’s aflame on the altar.
And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that {is} on the fire which {is} upon the altar:
But he’s washing the insides and legs in water: the priest will take it all and burn it on the altar: it’s a burnt offering, a sweet vibe for the Lord.
But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring {it} all, and burn {it} upon the altar: it {is} a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
If the burnt sacrifice for the Lord is birds, he’s gotta bring turtledoves or young pigeons.
And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD {be} of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
The priest will bring it to the altar, take off its head, and incinerate it; the blood will be let out at the altar's side.
And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn {it} on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar: {wring...: or, pinch off the head with the nail}
He’s gonna pull out the crop and feathers, tossing them beside the altar on the east side, where the ashes chill.
And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes: {his feathers: or, the filth thereof}
He’s gonna split it with its wings but not tear it apart: the priest will burn it on the altar, on the wood that’s lit: it’s a burnt sacrifice, a sweet vibe for the Lord.
And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, {but} shall not divide {it} asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that {is} upon the fire: it {is} a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
