John Chapter 18
So after Jesus dropped all that wisdom, he rolled with his squad over the brook Cedron to a garden where they chilled.
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
Judas, the dude who betrayed him, knew the spot since Jesus always kicked it there with his crew.
And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
Then Judas showed up with a crew of peeps and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, bringing lanterns, torches, and weapons.
Judas then, having received a band {of men} and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
Jesus, knowing all the drama about to unfold, stepped up and asked, "Who you looking for?"
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
They replied, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said, "That’s me." And Judas, the snitch, was right there with them.
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am {he}. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
As soon as he said that, they stumbled back and fell down.
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am {he}, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
He asked them again, "Who you looking for?" They said, "Jesus of Nazareth."
Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
Jesus said, "I already told you I’m him; if you're here for me, let my crew go."
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am {he}: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
This was to ensure the prophecy was spot on, saying, "I haven’t lost any of the ones you gave me."
That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
Then Simon Peter, with his sword, pulled it out and swung at the high priest’s servant, slicing off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
Jesus told Peter, "Calm down with the sword, fam. My Father gave me this cup, and I'm gonna drink it, no cap."
Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Then the squad and the main dude of the Jews grabbed Jesus and tied him up, for real.
Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
They took him to Annas first; he was like the father-in-law to Caiaphas, the high priest that year, periodt.
And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. {year: year. And Annas sent Christ bound unto Caiaphas the high priest}
Caiaphas was the one who said it was better for one dude to die for the people, that’s just savage.
Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
Simon Peter followed Jesus, and another disciple did too; this disciple had connections with the high priest and rolled in with Jesus to the palace.
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and {so did} another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
But Peter was chilling at the door outside. Then that other disciple who knew the high priest went out, chatted with the girl at the door, and brought Peter in.
But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
The girl at the door asked Peter, "Aren't you one of this dude's disciples?" He was like, "Nah, not me."
Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also {one} of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
The servants and officers were there, warming themselves by a fire 'cause it was cold; Peter was with them, trying to get warm too.
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
The high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teachings, sus.
The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
Jesus replied, "I spoke openly to everyone; I taught in the synagogue and the temple where the Jews always hang out, and I kept it 100, no secrets."
Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
Why you asking me? Ask the squad who heard me, they know what I said, no cap.
Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
After he dropped that, one of the officers slapped Jesus, like, "You talking back to the high priest?"
And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so? {with...: or, with a rod}
Jesus was like, "If I said something sus, prove it; but if I’m chillin', why you hitting me?"
Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
So, Annas sent him tied up to Caiaphas, the high priest.
Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
Peter was just vibing and keeping warm. They were like, "Aren't you one of his crew?" He was like, "Nah, not me."
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also {one} of his disciples? He denied {it}, and said, I am not.
One of the high priest's homies, whose ear Peter had sliced off, was like, "Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?"
One of the servants of the high priest, being {his} kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
Peter denied it again, and then the rooster crowed, fr.
Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the judgment hall, it was early, and they didn’t go in so they wouldn’t get defiled, just wanted to eat the Passover.
Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. {the hall...: or, Pilate's house}
Pilate came out to them and asked, "What’s the tea against this dude?"
Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
They replied, "If he wasn’t a total menace, we wouldn’t have brought him to you."
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
Pilate was like, "Go ahead and judge him based on your rules." The Jews were like, "No cap, we can't put anyone to death."
Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
This was to make what Jesus said come true, showing how he was gonna die.
That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
Pilate stepped back into the judgment hall and asked Jesus, "So, are you the King of the Jews?"
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
Jesus was like, "You asking that for yourself, or did someone spill the tea on me?"
Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
Pilate replied, "Am I a Jew? Your people and the top priests brought you to me. What did you do?"
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
Jesus answered, "My kingdom ain't from this world. If it was, my squad would be fighting to save me from you guys. But nah, my kingdom's from somewhere else."
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Pilate asked, "So you are a king?" Jesus said, "You said it. I was born for this and came to the world to share the truth. Everyone who vibes with the truth hears my voice."
Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Pilate was like, "What even is truth?" After saying that, he went back to the Jews and said, "I find no fault in him, fr."
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault {at all}.
"But you guys have this thing where I release one person at Passover. Do you want me to let go of the King of the Jews?"
But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
They all shouted again, "Not him, but Barabbas!" Barabbas was a total robber.
Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
