John Chapter 16
I’m just putting this out there so you won’t get all triggered, fr.
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. {offended: scandalized or, made to stumble}
They’re about to boot you from the synagogues, no cap. Folks are gonna think that taking you out is doing God a solid.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
They’ll act like this because they don’t know the Father or me, periodt.
And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
But I’ve shared this with you so that when it happens, you’ll remember I told you. I didn’t hit you with this at first ‘cause I was vibing with you.
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
Now I’m headed back to the one who sent me, and none of you are like, "Where you going?"
But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
But since I dropped this news, your hearts are feeling heavy, fr.
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
For real, I gotta keep it 100; it’s way better for you if I dip. If I don’t bounce, the Comforter ain’t rolling in, but if I jet, I’ll send him your way.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
When he shows up, he’ll call out the world on its sins, righteousness, and judgment, no cap.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: {reprove: or, convince}
Sin, ‘cause they don’t believe in me;
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Righteousness, ‘cause I’m heading to my Father, and you won’t see me anymore.
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
Judgment vibes, 'cause the prince of this world is already judged, no cap.
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
I’ve got a ton of things to spill to you, but you ain't ready for that yet, fr.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
But when the Spirit of truth rolls through, he’ll guide you to all the realness: not talking about himself, just sharing the tea on what he hears and spilling the future.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, {that} shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He’s gonna hype me up, ‘cause he’s taking what’s mine and showing it to you.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew {it} unto you.
Everything the Father’s got is mine: that’s why I said he’ll take from me and show you the good stuff.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew {it} unto you.
Just a hot minute, and you won't see me, then boom, a lil' while later, you’ll see me again, ‘cause I’m heading to the Father.
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
So some of the crew were like, "What’s he talking about, a little while, and we won’t see him? Then again, a little while, and we will? Is he off to the Father?"
Then said {some} of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
They were like, "What’s this little while thing? We can’t even figure it out."
They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
Jesus peeped that they were about to ask him, so he was like, "You trying to figure out what I meant by a little while, where you won’t see me, then again, you will?"
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
For real, for real, I’m telling you, you’ll weep and feel all the feels, but the world’s gonna be vibing: you’ll feel sad, but that sadness is gonna flip into joy, periodt.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
A woman in labor feels all the feels, but once that baby drops, she forgets the pain 'cause the joy hits differently.
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
Y’all are feeling down now, but I’ll be back, and your heart’s gonna vibe hard; no one can take that joy away.
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
On that day, you won’t need to ask me for anything. For real, whatever you ask the Father in my name, He’s got your back.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give {it} you.
Up till now, you’ve asked for nada in my name: just ask, and you’ll get it, and your joy will be lit.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
I’ve been dropping wisdom in parables, but soon I’ll be straight-up telling you about the Father, no cap.
These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. {proverbs: or, parables}
On that day, you’ll ask in my name, and I’m not saying I’ll pray to the Father for you, just so you know.
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
The Father loves you for real, 'cause you’ve loved me and believed I came from Him.
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
I came from the Father, stepped into the world, and now I’m bouncing back to Him.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
The disciples were like, "Whoa, you’re speaking straight facts now, no more riddles."
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. {proverb: or, parable}
Now we’re sure you know everything, and we don’t need to ask you anything: we believe you came from God.
Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Jesus was like, "Y'all believe now or what?"
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
Check it, the time's here, and it's about to get real. Everyone's gonna dip, and I'll be solo, but no cap, I'm not alone—Dad's got my back.
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. {his own: or, his own home}
I dropped these truths so you can chill in me. The world’s gonna throw shade, but keep your head up; I’ve totally beat the world.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
