Job Chapter 20
So Zophar the Naamathite was like,
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
My mind is racing, gotta drop this knowledge real quick.
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for {this} I make haste. {I make...: Heb. my haste is in me}
I peeped the shade thrown my way, so I'm like, "Time to clap back, no cap."
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
Aren't you aware this whole thing has been a jam since the dawn of time, when humans hit the scene?
Knowest thou {not} this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
The wicked might shine for a minute, but their hype is just sus and doesn't last.
That the triumphing of the wicked {is} short, and the joy of the hypocrite {but} for a moment? {short: Heb. from near}
Even if they elevate like they’re on cloud nine,
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; {clouds: Heb. cloud}
They’ll still disappear like yesterday’s drama: folks will be asking, "Where’d they go?"
{Yet} he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where {is} he?
They'll fade away like a dream, can’t even catch them: just a flicker that disappears in the dark.
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
The eyes that once saw them won’t spot them again; their place will be vacant, fr.
The eye also {which} saw him shall {see him} no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
Their kids will try to connect with the less privileged, and their hands will bring back the losses.
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods. {His children...: or, The poor shall oppress his children}
His bones hold all the bad energy from his youth, and they’ll just hang with him in the ground.
His bones are full {of the sin} of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
Even if wickedness seems sweet, he’s keeping it all under wraps, like a secret stash;
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, {though} he hide it under his tongue;
He’s clutching it tight, not letting it slide; keeping that sus stuff tucked in his mouth:
{Though} he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth: {within...: Heb. in the midst of his palate}
But what’s brewing inside is all messed up, like snake venom in his belly.
{Yet} his meat in his bowels is turned, {it is} the gall of asps within him.
He’s swallowed all this dough, but later he’s gonna regurgitate it: God’s making him cough it up.
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
He’s about to inhale venom from snakes: the viper’s fangs are gonna end him.
He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
He won’t lay eyes on all the lit rivers, the floods, or the sweet brooks of honey and cream.
He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter. {the floods...: or, streaming brooks}
Everything he grinded for is gonna come back to him, and he won’t even enjoy it: it’s all about his gains, and he won’t be hype about it.
That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow {it} down: according to {his} substance {shall} the restitution {be}, and he shall not rejoice {therein}. {his...: Heb. the substance of his exchange}
Because he’s been ruthless, leaving the needy in the dust; he’s taken away a crib he didn't even build.
Because he hath oppressed {and} hath forsaken the poor; {because} he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not; {oppressed: Heb. crushed}
Seriously, he won't find peace in his gut, and he won’t save what he craved.
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired. {feel: Heb. know}
Ain't gonna be any leftovers, so no one’s checking for his stuff.
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods. {none...: or, be none left for his meat}
When he's vibing, the struggle hits different; all the bad energy's coming for him.
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him. {wicked: or, troublesome}
Right as he's about to feast, God’s about to drop some major heat on him while he’s chowing down.
{When} he is about to fill his belly, {God} shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain {it} upon him while he is eating.
He’s gonna bounce from the iron weapon, but that steel bow is gonna hit him hard.
He shall flee from the iron weapon, {and} the bow of steel shall strike him through.
It’s been drawn, and yeah, that shiny blade is coming out of him; he’s feeling all the fear.
It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors {are} upon him.
All the hidden secrets are tucked away; a fire that hasn’t even been stoked is gonna burn him; it’s gonna be rough for anyone still in his house.
All darkness {shall be} hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
The sky’s gonna call out his wrongs; the earth’s gonna rise up against him.
The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
The growth of his crib is ghosting, and his stuff’s gonna bail on the day of his wrath.
The increase of his house shall depart, {and his goods} shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
This is what a wicked dude earns from God, and it’s the legacy that’s set out for him by the Almighty.
This {is} the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God. {appointed...: Heb. of his decree from God}
