Job Chapter 18
So Bildad the Shuhite was like, 'Yo, check this out,'
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
'How long you gonna keep running your mouth? Just chill for a sec, and we’ll vibe.'
How long {will it be ere} ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
'Why we gotta be seen as beasts, like, that’s mad sus from your angle?'
Wherefore are we counted as beasts, {and} reputed vile in your sight?
'He’s flipping out so hard; like, is the earth gonna bounce you? The rock ain't budging for you, my guy.'
He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place? {himself: Heb. his soul}
'No cap, the wicked's light is about to fade, and their flames ain't gonna shine.'
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
'Their glow's gonna get weak in their pad, and their candle’s getting snuffed out.'
The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him. {candle: or, lamp}
'His power's getting wrecked, and his own thoughts are gonna ghost him.'
The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
'He’s caught in a trap he set for himself, straight walking into a snare.'
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.
'The trap’s gonna snatch him by the heel, and the thief’s about to level up.'
The gin shall take {him} by the heel, {and} the robber shall prevail against him.
'The snare’s laid out on the ground, and there’s a trap waiting for him on his path.'
The snare {is} laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way. {laid: Heb. hidden}
'Nightmares gonna swarm him from every angle, making him jump.'
Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet. {drive: Heb. scatter}
'His strength's gonna be starving, and destruction’s right there, no cap.'
His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction {shall be} ready at his side.
'It’s gonna snack on his strength: even death’s firstborn is gonna take him down.'
It shall devour the strength of his skin: {even} the firstborn of death shall devour his strength. {strength: Heb. bars}
'His confidence is getting booted from his crib, dragging him to the king of fears.'
His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
'It’s gonna chill in his place because it ain’t his; sulfur’s getting tossed on his spot.'
It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because {it is} none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
'His roots are dying out below, and above, his branches are getting clipped.'
His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
'His name’s gonna disappear from the land, and he’ll be a ghost in the streets.'
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
'He’s getting chased from light into darkness, straight outta this world.'
He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. {He...: Heb. They shall drive him}
'He won’t have any kids or nephews around his crew, nor anyone left in his crib.'
He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
'Those who roll up after him are gonna be shook by his day, just like those before were scared.'
They that come after {him} shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted. {went...: or, lived with him} {were...: Heb. laid hold on horror}
'For real, this is the vibe of the wicked, and this is where the one who doesn’t know God lands.'
Surely such {are} the dwellings of the wicked, and this {is} the place {of him that} knoweth not God.
