Isaiah Chapter 27
So on that day, the Lord’s pulling up with a savage sword to take out Leviathan, that sneaky serpent; he’s about to take down the dragon just chilling in the sea.
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that {is} in the sea. {piercing: or, crossing like a bar}
On that day, vibe check and drop a song for her, 'A vineyard of red wine, let’s vibe!'
In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.
Honestly, I, the Lord, got this on lock; I’m watering it non-stop, no cap: I’ll guard it day and night.
I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest {any} hurt it, I will keep it night and day.
Ain’t no rage in me: who’s brave enough to throw thorns at me? I’d just pop off and roast them all.
Fury {is} not in me: who would set the briers {and} thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together. {go...: or, march against}
Or let him take my strength, so he can vibe with me; and he definitely will vibe with me.
Or let him take hold of my strength, {that} he may make peace with me; {and} he shall make peace with me.
He’s gonna help Jacob’s squad take root: Israel’s about to bloom and fill the world with mad fruit.
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
Did he treat him like he treated those who came for him? Or is he down like those who fell by his hand?
Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? {or} is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him? {as...: Heb. according to the stroke of}
When it shoots out, you’ll wanna argue about it: he calms the wild winds when the east wind comes through.
In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind. {it shooteth...: or, thou sendest it forth} {he...: or, when he removeth it with}
This is how Jacob’s wrongs get wiped clean; it’s all about removing the sin when he turns the altar stones into dust, and the groves and idols won’t stand.
By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this {is} all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up. {images: or, sun images}
But the fortified city’s gonna be empty, left like a ghost town: the calf will chill there, laying down and snacking on the branches.
Yet the defenced city {shall be} desolate, {and} the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
When the branches dry up, they’ll just break off: the ladies come and set them ablaze; it’s a crew with no sense, so the creator won’t show them mercy or grace.
When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, {and} set them on fire: for it {is} a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.
And on that day, the Lord’s gonna clear out from the river channel to the stream of Egypt, and you’ll be gathered one by one, O children of Israel.
And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
And on that day, the loud trumpet’s gonna sound, and those ready to bounce from Assyria and the outcasts in Egypt will come worship the Lord on the holy mount in Jerusalem.
And it shall come to pass in that day, {that} the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
