The king’s crew was like, “Ayo, let’s scope out some cute young ladies for the king.”

Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king:

So the king was like, “Have some peeps in each province round up all the fine young virgins to Shushan, to hang with Hege, the king’s women boss, and let’s set them up with purification vibes.”

He was taken from Jerusalem during the whole captivity with Jeconiah, the king of Judah, by Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon.

Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, {to wit}, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with {other} things for the purifying of the women;)

every chick came to the king, and whatever she wanted was given to her to take from the women’s crib to the king’s palace.

In the evening she went in, and the next day she rolled back to the second women’s house, under Shaashgaz, the king’s concubine overseer; she didn’t see the king again unless he was really into her and called her by name.

When it was Esther’s turn, daughter of Abihail, Mordecai’s uncle, she asked for nothing except what Hege, the women’s keeper, suggested. Esther was totally favored by everyone who saw her.
