2 Samuel Chapter 9
So David was like, "Is there anyone still hanging around in Saul's crew so I can drop some kindness for Jonathan's sake? Vibes."
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
There was this servant named Ziba from Saul's squad. They summoned him to David, and the king was like, "Yo, you Ziba?" He replied, "Yeah, that’s me, no cap."
And {there was} of the house of Saul a servant whose name {was} Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, {Art} thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant {is he}.
The king asked, "Is there anyone still alive from Saul's fam so I can bless them with God’s kindness?" Ziba said, "Jonathan’s got a son, but he’s lame."
And the king said, {Is} there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, {which is} lame on {his} feet.
David was like, "Where’s he at?" Ziba answered, "He’s kickin’ it at Machir’s crib, son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar."
And the king said unto him, Where {is} he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he {is} in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
Then King David sent for him and scooped him up from Machir's pad in Lo-debar. Lit move.
Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
When Mephibosheth, Jonathan's boy, rolled up to David, he fell on his face, showing major respect. David was like, "Mephibosheth." He responded, "What’s good, your servant?"
Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! {Mephibosheth: also called Meribbaal}
David said, "No need to be shook; I’m about to show you kindness for your pops Jonathan, and I’ll give you back all of Saul's land. You’ll be eating at my table all the time, fr."
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
He bowed low and said, "Why would you even look at a dead dog like me?" Savage.
And he bowed himself, and said, What {is} thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I {am}?
Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said, "I’ve given your master’s son everything that was Saul’s and his crib."
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
"You and your sons and your crew will work the land for him, bringing in the harvest so your master’s son has grub. But Mephibosheth will always be munching at my table." Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants, no cap.
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in {the fruits}, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Ziba replied to the king, "Whatever you say, my lord, I’m on it. And about Mephibosheth, he’ll be eating at my table like one of the king’s sons."
Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, {said the king}, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
Mephibosheth had a little son named Micha, and everyone in Ziba’s house was working for Mephibosheth.
And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name {was} Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba {were} servants unto Mephibosheth.
So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, feasting at the king's table all the time, but he was lame on both feet. Bussin' life.
So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
