2 Samuel Chapter 7
So, the king was just chilling at his pad, and the Lord gave him mad peace from all his enemies;
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
The king was like to Nathan the prophet, "Yo, I’m living in a sick cedar crib, but God’s ark is just hanging out in some curtains."
That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
Nathan replied, "Bet, do what you gotta do, 'cause the Lord’s got your back, fr."
And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that {is} in thine heart; for the LORD {is} with thee.
Later that night, the Lord slid into Nathan’s DMs and said,
And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
"Go tell my guy David, the Lord is asking, 'You trying to build me a crib?'"
Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in? {my servant...: Heb. to my servant, to David}
"I haven't crashed in a house since I brought the Israelites outta Egypt, just vibing in a tent and a tabernacle. So sus right?"
Whereas I have not dwelt in {any} house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
"Everywhere I’ve walked with the Israelites, did I ever hit up any of the tribes I told to watch over my peeps, saying, 'Why don’t you hook me up with a cedar crib?'"
In all {the places} wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar? {any of...: any of the judges}
"So, tell my guy David, the Lord of hosts is saying, 'I snagged you from the sheep, to lead my people, Israel.'"
Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel: {from following: Heb. from after}
"I was with you wherever you cruised, took out all your foes, and made your name fire, like the legends on the earth. No cap."
And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great {men} that {are} in the earth. {out of...: Heb. from thy face}
"Plus, I'm about to set up a spot for my peeps Israel, plant them good so they can vibe in their own space, and the wicked won't mess with them like before, fr."
Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
Since I told the judges to handle my people in Israel, I got you chilling from your enemies. God’s rolling out a house for you, for real.
And as since the time that I commanded judges {to be} over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
When your time's up, and you’re catching Z’s with your fam, I’ll appoint your kid to carry on your legacy, and I’ll actually build his kingdom.
And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
He’s gonna craft a house for my name, and I’ll make his kingdom’s throne goated forever.
He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
I’ll be his father, and he’ll be my son. If he messes up, I’ll keep him in check, no cap, but will still show him love.
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
My mercy ain't going anywhere with him, unlike Saul who got benched for real.
But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took {it} from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
Your house and kingdom will be locked in forever, your throne’s got that eternal vibe.
And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
Nathan dropped all these words and visions to David, no cap.
According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
Then King David came through and sat with God, like, “Who am I, Lord? What’s my crib that you brought me this far?”
Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who {am} I, O Lord GOD? and what {is} my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
And this was just a light flex for you, Lord; you’ve been talking about my fam’s crib for ages. Is this how you roll, Lord?
And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And {is} this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? {manner: Heb. law}
What else can David even say to you? You know me, Lord, you know your servant, periodt.
And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.
For real, you did all this epic stuff just to flex your word and let your homie know.
For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know {them}.
Yo, you’re the GOAT, Lord God, no one compares to you, we’ve caught the vibes.
Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for {there is} none like thee, neither {is there any} God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
What other squad on Earth is like your peeps, Israel? You saved them to be your own, doing crazy things for them, no cap.
And what one nation in the earth {is} like thy people, {even} like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, {from} the nations and their gods?
You locked in your crew, Israel, forever, and you, Lord, are their God, periodt.
For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel {to be} a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
So now, Lord God, keep it 100 with the promise you made about your servant and his fam, make it last forever.
And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish {it} for ever, and do as thou hast said.
Let your name be mega lit forever, saying, the Lord of hosts is the God over Israel, and let David's crew be solid with you.
And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts {is} the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
You, Lord of hosts, God of Israel, told your servant you’d build him a crib, so he’s got the rizz to pray this prayer to you.
For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. {revealed: Heb. opened the ear}
And now, Lord God, you’re that God, your words are straight facts, and you promised this goodness to your servant.
And now, O Lord GOD, thou {art} that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
So please bless your servant's crib, keep it going forever, 'cause you said it, and with your blessing, let it be blessed for eternity.
Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken {it}: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever. {let it...: Heb. be thou pleased and bless}
