2 Samuel Chapter 22
David dropped this dope song to the Lord after getting saved from all the haters, especially Saul.
And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day {that} the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
He was like, "The Lord is my rock, my stronghold, and my main source for saving me."
And he said, The LORD {is} my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
The God of my rock; I trust Him for real: He’s my shield, my salvation vibe, my safe zone, and my high point; He pulls me from the drama.
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: {he is} my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
I’m calling on the Lord, who totally deserves the praise: I’ll be rescued from my foes, no cap.
I will call on the LORD, {who is} worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
When death’s waves were crashing in, the floods of sus folks had me spooked.
When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; {waves: or, pangs} {ungodly...: Heb. Belial}
The vibes of hell were all around me; the death traps had me feeling tense.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; {sorrows: or, cords}
During my struggles, I called out to the Lord and screamed to my God: He peeped my voice from His place, and my cry reached Him.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry {did enter} into his ears.
Then the earth was like, "Nah!" and shook; the foundations of heaven were vibing hard since He was frustrated.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
Smoke came outta His nostrils, and fire from His mouth was burning things up: coals were ignited by it.
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. {out of his nostrils: Heb. by, etc}
He brought the heavens down low and showed up; darkness was under His feet, fr.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness {was} under his feet.
He cruised in on a cherub, flexing in the sky like a boss, riding the wind vibes.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
He threw down some dark energy around Him, like thick clouds and deep waters, no cap.
And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, {and} thick clouds of the skies. {dark...: Heb. binding of waters}
The light before Him was lit, like coals of fire blazing.
Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
The Lord was thundering from the skies, spitting bars with the most High's voice.
The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
He shot arrows, scattering vibes; the lightning hit different, and they were shook.
And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
The sea's channels appeared, like the world’s foundations were shown when the Lord popped off, just breathing hard.
And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
He swooped down from above, lifted me up; He saved me from the deep waters, fr.
He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; {many: or, great}
He rescued me from my wild enemies and the haters: they were way too strong, no cap.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, {and} from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
They jumped me on my worst day: but the Lord had my back, periodt.
They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
He brought me to a chill zone, saved me, 'cause He was vibing with me.
He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
The Lord blessed me for keeping it 100: my hands were clean, so He hooked me up.
The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
I stayed on the Lord's hustle and didn’t ditch my God, no cap.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
All His rules were in front of me, and I didn’t bounce from them, periodt.
For all his judgments {were} before me: and {as for} his statutes, I did not depart from them.
I kept it real with Him and stayed away from my mess.
I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. {before: Heb. to}
So, the Lord rewarded me for being righteous; my vibe was pure in His eyes.
Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight. {in...: Heb. before his eyes}
If you’re merciful, He’s gonna show you mercy; if you’re real, He’s all about that realness too.
With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, {and} with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
If you’re pure, He’ll keep it pure with you; if you’re shady, He’s not down with that.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury. {shew thyself unsavoury: or, wrestle}
He’ll save the ones in need, but He’s keeping an eye on the cocky to humble them.
And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes {are} upon the haughty, {that} thou mayest bring {them} down.
You’re my light, Lord; you’re gonna shine in my dark moments, fr.
For thou {art} my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. {lamp: or, candle}
With you, I’ve taken down a whole squad; with my God, I’ve jumped over walls like it’s nothing.
For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. {run: or, broken}
God's vibes are fire; His word is solid: He’s a total shield for everyone who trusts Him, no cap.
{As for} God, his way {is} perfect; the word of the LORD {is} tried: he {is} a buckler to all them that trust in him. {tried: or, refined}
Who even is God, but the Lord? And who's a solid rock, but our God?
For who {is} God, save the LORD? and who {is} a rock, save our God?
God is my strength and power: He makes my path lit.
God {is} my strength {and} power: and he maketh my way perfect. {maketh: Heb. riddeth, or, looseth}
He gives me feet like a gazelle’s: and sets me up in high places, fr.
He maketh my feet like hinds' {feet}: and setteth me upon my high places. {maketh: Heb. equalleth}
He trains my hands for battle; like, I can snap a steel bow with my arms, savage.
He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. {to war: Heb. for the war}
You’ve given me the shield of salvation: your gentleness makes me goated.
Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. {made...: Heb. multiplied me}
You’ve secured my steps; my feet ain't slipping, periodt.
Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. {feet: Heb. ankles}
I chased down my enemies and wrecked them; didn’t stop until they were done for.
I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.
I totally consumed them and hurt them so they couldn’t get back up: they’re under my feet now.
And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.
You’ve strapped me with strength for battle: those who rose against me, you put them down.
For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. {subdued: Heb. caused to bow}
You’ve given me the necks of my enemies, so I can take them out, no cap.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
They looked around, but no one was saving them; even hit up the Lord, but He ghosted.
They looked, but {there was} none to save; {even} unto the LORD, but he answered them not.
I crushed them to dust, like straight-up street grime, and scattered them everywhere.
Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, {and} did spread them abroad.
You pulled me from the drama of my crew, kept me as the boss of the nations: folks I didn’t even know will vibe with me.
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me {to be} head of the heathen: a people {which} I knew not shall serve me.
Strangers gonna bow down to me: as soon as they hear, they’ll be all in, fr.
Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me. {Strangers: Heb. Sons of the stranger} {submit...: or, yield feigned obedience: Heb. lie}
Strangers gonna dip, and they’ll be shook in their hiding spots.
Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
The Lord's alive; bless up my rock; big ups to the God who saves me.
The LORD liveth; and blessed {be} my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
It’s God who’s got my back, and takes down the crew under me.
It {is} God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me, {avengeth: Heb. giveth avengement for}
And lifts me high above my foes: you’ve saved me from the savage dudes.
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
So I’m gonna shout out thanks to you, Lord, among the nations, and I’ll drop some fire praises for your name.
Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
He’s the ultimate safety net for his king, showing mad love to his chosen one, David, and his fam forever.
{He is} the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
