2 Peter Chapter 3
Ayo fam, I’m dropping this second letter to check your pure minds and remind you what’s poppin'.
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in {both} which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
So you can peep what the holy prophets said and what we, the apostles of the Lord, laid down for you.
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
Just know, in the last days, there’s gonna be some haters living their best life, no cap.
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
They’re out here saying, “Where’s the promise of his coming?” Like, ever since the OGs took a nap, it’s been all chill since creation.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as {they were} from the beginning of the creation.
They’re straight-up overlooking that God spoke and bam, the heavens and the earth were crafted, standing outta and in the water.
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: {standing: Gr. consisting}
Back in the day, the world got totally wrecked by the flood, no cap.
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But now, the heavens and the earth are on hold, waiting for the fire on judgment day for all the savage peeps.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But yo, don’t be clueless; a day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is just a day, fr.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day {is} with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord isn’t slacking on his promise like some folks think; he’s just being chill, wanting everyone to come back and repent, periodt.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord’s gonna hit like a thief in the night; the heavens will go boom, and everything will melt with mad heat, no cap.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
So if everything's gonna fade away, how should we be living, like, in all holiness and godliness?
{Seeing} then {that} all these things shall be dissolved, what manner {of persons} ought ye to be in {all} holy conversation and godliness,
Looking forward to the day of God, where the heavens will be lit on fire and everything will melt away?
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? {hasting...: or, hasting the coming}
But we’re hyped for new heavens and a new earth where everything’s straight righteous, no doubt.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
So, fam, since you’re waiting for this, be on your grind to be found in peace, with no stains, and blameless.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
And remember, the patience of our Lord is real salvation; our guy Paul wrote you about this wisdom too.
And account {that} the longsuffering of our Lord {is} salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
He mentioned these things in all his letters, and some of it’s kinda hard to grasp; those who don’t know and are unstable twist it, just like they do with other scriptures, leading to their own downfall.
As also in all {his} epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as {they do} also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
So watch out, fam, since you know all this, don’t let the wicked lead you off track and fall from your strong vibes.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know {these things} before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
But keep leveling up in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be all the glory, now and forever. Amen.
But grow in grace, and {in} the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him {be} glory both now and for ever. Amen.
