2 Corinthians Chapter 5
We totally get that if our vibe check on this earthly shell flops, we’ve got a sick place from God, crafted without human hands, eternal up in the clouds.
For we know that if our earthly house of {this} tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
We’re out here groaning, lowkey wanting to wear that heavenly drip.
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
If we’re suited up, we won’t get caught lacking and exposed.
If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
We’re feeling the strain in this body, but we don’t wanna be stripped down, just elevated, so life can engulf death.
For we that are in {this} tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
God is the one who designed us for this vibe, plus He’s hooked us up with the Spirit as a promise.
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing {is} God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
So we stay confident, knowing that while we’re vibing in this body, we’re not with the Lord.
Therefore {we are} always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(We roll by faith, not by sight, fr.)
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We’re self-assured, like, we’d much rather be out of this shell and with the Lord, no cap.
We are confident, {I say}, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
So we hustle, whether we’re chilling here or there, aiming to be accepted by Him.
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. {labour: or, endeavour}
We all gotta roll up at Christ’s judgment throne; everyone’s getting what they put in during their time here, good or bad.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things {done} in {his} body, according to that he hath done, whether {it be} good or bad.
Knowing the respect for the Lord, we’re out here convincing people; we’re genuine with God, and I trust you can feel that in your hearts too.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
We’re not boasting about ourselves again, just giving you a chance to flex for us, so you can respond to those who care more about appearances than vibes.
For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to {answer} them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. {in appearance: Gr. in the face}
Whether we’re acting crazy, it’s for God; or if we’re laid back, it’s for you.
For whether we be beside ourselves, {it is} to God: or whether we be sober, {it is} for your cause.
The love of Christ has us feeling some type of way; we’re judging that if one died for everyone, then everyone was lost.
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
He died for all, so those living shouldn’t just vibe for themselves, but for Him who passed away and rose again.
And {that} he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
From here on out, we don’t see anyone just by the flesh; even if we once knew Christ in the flesh, we don’t see Him that way anymore.
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we {him} no more.
So if anyone’s in Christ, they’re a total new vibe; the old is gone, and everything’s fresh.
Therefore if any man {be} in Christ, {he is} a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. {he is: or, let him be}
All of this comes from God, who made peace with us through Jesus and gave us the mission of reconciliation.
And all things {are} of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
God was in Christ, making peace with the world, not counting their screw-ups against them; He gave us the message of peace.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. {committed...: Gr. put in us}
So we’re like representatives for Christ, like God’s reaching out to you through us: we’re praying for you to get right with God.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech {you} by us: we pray {you} in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
He made Him who knew no sin to be our sin, so we could become the righteousness of God in Him.
For he hath made him {to be} sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
