2 Corinthians Chapter 10
Yo, it’s Paul here, asking you to vibe with the chillness and kindness of Christ. I’m lowkey humble when I'm around you, but when I'm not, I bring that bold energy.
Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence {am} base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: {in presence: or, in outward appearance}
Just saying, I hope I don't have to flex too hard when I'm with you, but some folks think we roll with the flesh.
But I beseech {you}, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. {think: or, reckon}
For real, we might be in the flesh, but we ain't throwing down like that.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
Our weapons aren't basic; they’re straight fire through God, bringing down strong vibes.
(For the weapons of our warfare {are} not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) {through God: or, to God}
We’re dropping all those crazy thoughts and anything trying to flex against God, aligning every thought with Christ.
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; {imaginations: or, reasonings}
We’re ready to call out all disobedience when your obedience is on point.
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Are you just peeping the outside? If anyone thinks they're with Christ, they better remember we're on that same vibe.
Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he {is} Christ's, even so {are} we Christ's.
I could flex about my authority from the Lord for building you up, not tearing you down, and I ain’t even trippin' about it.
For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:
I don't wanna come off scary with my letters.
That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
They say my letters hit hard, but when I'm there, I'm lowkey weak and my words don’t hit the same.
For {his} letters, say they, {are} weighty and powerful; but {his} bodily presence {is} weak, and {his} speech contemptible. {say they: Gr. saith he}
Let them know, when I'm writing, I'm the same as I am when I'm in person, no cap.
Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such {will we be} also in deed when we are present.
We don’t compare ourselves to others or vibe with those who hype themselves up; that’s just hella sus.
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. {are...: or, understand it not}
We’re not flexing outside our lane, but keeping it real with the measure God gave us, reaching out to you.
But we will not boast of things without {our} measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. {rule: or, line}
We’re not stretching beyond our limits; we’ve come as far as you in spreading the gospel of Christ.
For we stretch not ourselves beyond {our measure}, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in {preaching} the gospel of Christ:
Not flexing on what others did; we’re hoping when your faith grows, we all get to level up together.
Not boasting of things without {our} measure, {that is}, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly, {enlarged...: or, magnified in you}
We’re here to share the gospel in places beyond you, not boasting about someone else's work.
To preach the gospel in the {regions} beyond you, {and} not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand. {line: or, rule}
If you're gonna flex, do it in the Lord.
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
It’s not about self-approval; it's all about who the Lord gives the thumbs up to.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
