2 Chronicles Chapter 36
The crew in the land grabbed Jehoahaz, Josiah's son, and crowned him king in Jerusalem, no cap.
Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.
Only 23 when he kicked off his reign, Jehoahaz only held it down for three months in Jerusalem, fr.
Jehoahaz {was} twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
Then the Pharaoh from Egypt pulled up, and he was shut down in Jerusalem, taxing him a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. {put...: Heb. removed him}
The Egyptian king switched Eliakim, his brother, into the throne of Judah and Jerusalem, renaming him Jehoiakim. Necho took off with Jehoahaz to Egypt.
And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
Taking the throne at 25, Jehoiakim ruled for eleven years but was straight-up sus in the Lord's sight.
Jehoiakim {was} twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did {that which was} evil in the sight of the LORD his God.
Nebuchadnezzar, the Babylon king, rolled up, bound him, and dragged him to Babylon, savage move.
Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon. {fetters: or, chains}
He took the sacred items from the Lord's house to Babylon and stored them in his temple, no cap.
Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
All the other moves Jehoiakim made and his cringe moments are documented in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. After him, his son Jehoiachin claimed the throne.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they {are} written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead. {Jehoiachin: also called, Jeconiah, or, Coniah}
Jehoiachin was just 8 when he started ruling, lasted three months and ten days in Jerusalem, but he was also sus in the Lord's view.
Jehoiachin {was} eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did {that which was} evil in the sight of the LORD.
When the year ended, King Nebuchadnezzar summoned him, took him to Babylon with the holy stuff from the Lord’s house, and made Zedekiah, his brother, king over Judah and Jerusalem.
And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem. {when...: Heb. at the return of the year} {goodly...: Heb. vessels of desire} {Zedekiah...: or, Mattaniah, his father's brother}
Zedekiah was 21 when he grabbed the crown and ruled for eleven years in Jerusalem, fr.
Zedekiah {was} one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
He was also sus in the Lord's eyes and didn’t humble himself before Jeremiah, the mouthpiece for the Lord.
And he did {that which was} evil in the sight of the LORD his God, {and} humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet {speaking} from the mouth of the LORD.
He even went against King Nebuchadnezzar, who made him take an oath by God, but he was hard-headed and refused to turn back to the Lord God of Israel.
And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.
The priests and the people went wild with heathen vibes, trashing the Lord's house in Jerusalem, which was meant to be holy.
Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
God sent messengers to them, getting up early and sending them out because He cared about His people and His place, periodt.
And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: {by: Heb. by the hand of} {betimes: that is, continually and carefully}
But they clowned the messengers, disrespected His words, and mistreated His prophets until the Lord's anger hit them hard, and there was no escape.
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till {there was} no remedy. {remedy: Heb. healing}
So He sent the ruler of the Chaldeans who took out their young ones in the sanctuary, showing no mercy, no matter the age, periodt.
Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave {them} all into his hand.
He snatched everything from God's house, big and small, and the treasures of the Lord and the king, all of it went to Babylon.
And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all {these} he brought to Babylon.
They torched God's house, wrecked Jerusalem's walls, set fire to all the palaces, and ruined all the good stuff.
And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
Survivors of the sword were taken to Babylon, where they served him and his sons until the Persian empire came through, no cap.
And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: {them...: Heb. the remainder from the sword}
This went down to fulfill the word of the Lord through Jeremiah, until the land enjoyed its sabbaths: while it lay desolate, it kept sabbath for seventy years, fr.
To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: {for} as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, to fulfill the word spoken by the Lord through Jeremiah, God stirred Cyrus' spirit, and he made a proclamation throughout his kingdom, writing it down too.
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD {spoken} by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and {put it} also in writing, saying,
Cyrus, king of Persia, said, "The Lord God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and charged me to build a house for Him in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who's down? Let the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!"
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which {is} in Judah. Who {is there} among you of all his people? The LORD his God {be} with him, and let him go up.
