2 Chronicles Chapter 33
Manasseh kicked off his reign at just 12 years old, running the show for 55 years in Jerusalem, no cap.
Manasseh {was} twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
However, he was on some wild vibes in God's eyes, similar to the savage rituals of the nations God booted out before Israel.
But did {that which was} evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
He restored the high places his pops Hezekiah tore down, crafted altars for Baalim, created groves, and worshipped the whole squad of heaven, serving them as if it was super lit.
For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. {he built...: Heb. he returned and built}
He even established altars in the Lord's crib, where God was like, "My name's gonna chill here forever, periodt."
Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
On top of that, he threw up altars for all the heavenly hosts in both courtyards of the Lord's house, just vibing out.
And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
He made his kids walk through fire in Hinnom's valley, practiced some mad magic, and dabbled with spirits and wizards, dishing out serious evil to tick off God.
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
He put a carved idol he crafted inside God's house, where God told David and Solomon, "This is my house in Jerusalem, forever."
And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
God was like, "I’m not gonna kick Israel out of the land I promised your fam, as long as they stick to my rules, fr."
Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
So Manasseh led Judah and Jerusalem to mess it up even worse than the nations God wiped out before Israel, no cap.
So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, {and} to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
And when God reached out to Manasseh and his crew, they were like, "Nah, we chillin.'"
And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
So God sent the Assyrian army, who snagged Manasseh in the thorns, shackled him up, and took him to Babylon, savage move.
Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon. {of the king: Heb. which were the king's} {fetters: or, chains}
In his time of trouble, he hit up the Lord, humbled himself majorly before the God of his ancestors, real talk.
And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
He prayed, and God was like, "I got you," heard his plea, and brought him back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh truly knew the Lord was legit.
And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he {was} God.
After that, he built a wall outside David's city on the west side of Gihon, stretching from the valley to the fish gate, making it super tall and placing war captains in all the fortified towns of Judah.
Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah. {Ophel: or, the tower}
He ditched the strange gods and the idol from the Lord's crib, plus all the altars he set up on the mount of the Lord's house and in Jerusalem, booting them out of the city, no cap.
And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast {them} out of the city.
He repaired the Lord's altar, offered peace and thank offerings, and urged Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel, periodt.
And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
Still, the people continued sacrificing on the high places, but only to the Lord their God, vibing.
Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, {yet} unto the LORD their God only.
The rest of Manasseh's deeds, his prayer, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in God's name, they’re all recorded in the kings of Israel's book, no cap.
Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they {are written} in the book of the kings of Israel.
His prayer, how God was there for him, all his wrongs, and where he set up high places, groves, and idols before he humbled himself, it’s all in the sayings of the seers.
His prayer also, and {how God} was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they {are} written among the sayings of the seers. {the seers: or, Hosai}
So Manasseh passed away and was laid to rest at home, with his son Amon taking the reins, no cap.
So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
Amon was 22 when he stepped into his role and held it down for two years in Jerusalem, no cap.
Amon {was} two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
But he was on the same sus vibe as his dad Manasseh, sacrificing to all the idols Manasseh set up and serving them, fr.
But he did {that which was} evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
He didn’t humble himself before the Lord like Manasseh did; instead, he just kept messing it up.
And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more. {trespassed more and more: Heb. multiplied trespass}
His servants plotted against him and took him out in his own crib, savage.
And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
But the locals handled all the conspirators against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah the king instead, periodt.
But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
