He had siblings, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Michael, and Shephatiah. All of them were part of Jehoshaphat’s crew, king of Israel.

Original Source

And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these {were} the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.

Their pops hooked them up with a ton of cash, silver, gold, and other cool stuff, along with some fortified towns in Judah. But the kingdom? That was given to Jehoram since he was the eldest.

Original Source

And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he {was} the firstborn.

4
Gen Z Vibe

When Jehoram stepped up, he went all in and took out all his brothers with the sword, plus some princes in Israel. Total savage move.

Original Source

Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and {divers} also of the princes of Israel.

5
Gen Z Vibe

Jehoram was 32 when he started his reign, and he held it down in Jerusalem for a solid eight years.

Original Source

Jehoram {was} thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

6
Gen Z Vibe

He rolled with the same vibe as the kings of Israel, just like Ahab’s fam, 'cause he married Ahab's daughter and got into some sus stuff in the eyes of the Lord.

Original Source

And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought {that which was} evil in the eyes of the LORD.

7
Gen Z Vibe

But the Lord was all like, “Nah, I'm not gonna take down David's lineage,” due to the promise He made to David, granting him and his sons a light forever.

Original Source

Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. {light: Heb. lamp, or, candle}

8
Gen Z Vibe

During his rule, the Edomites were like, “We out,” and crowned their own king.

Original Source

In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king. {dominion: Heb. hand}

9
Gen Z Vibe

Jehoram and his squad hit the road with all their chariots, sneaking out at night to face the Edomites who had him surrounded, plus the chariot captains.

Original Source

Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots.

10
Gen Z Vibe

So the Edomites dipped from Judah and Libnah followed suit, 'cause he ditched the Lord God of his father.

Original Source

So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time {also} did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.

11
Gen Z Vibe

He set up high places in Judah, got the Jerusalem crew to sin, and pushed Judah to join in on the bad vibes.

Original Source

Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah {thereto}.

12
Gen Z Vibe

Elijah the prophet slid into his DMs with a word from the Lord God of David: “You haven't walked in Jehoshaphat's or Asa's ways.”

Original Source

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

13
Gen Z Vibe

Instead, you followed the kings of Israel, leading Judah and Jerusalem to act wild, just like Ahab's squad, and even took out your better bros.

Original Source

But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, {which were} better than thyself:

14
Gen Z Vibe

Yo, the Lord's about to send a major plague on your people, kids, wives, and all your goods.

Original Source

Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: {a great...: Heb. a great stroke}

15
Gen Z Vibe

You'll be dealing with some wild gut issues, until it's just way too much to handle.

Original Source

And thou {shalt have} great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.

16
Gen Z Vibe

The Lord stirred up the Philistines and Arabians to go against Jehoram, right alongside the Ethiopians.

Original Source

Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that {were} near the Ethiopians:

17
Gen Z Vibe

They rolled into Judah, raided the king's crib, and snagged everything, including his sons and wives, leaving him with just Jehoahaz, his youngest.

Original Source

And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons. {carried...: Heb. carried captive} {Jehoahaz: also called, Ahaziah, or, Azariah}

18
Gen Z Vibe

After all this, the Lord hit him with an incurable gut disease.

Original Source

And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.

19
Gen Z Vibe

So, after two years, his guts literally fell out from his sickness, and he died from some gross diseases. His people didn't even burn anything for him, like they did for his forefathers.

Original Source

And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.

20
Gen Z Vibe

He was 32 when he became king, held it down in Jerusalem for eight years, and dipped without anyone caring. They buried him in the city of David, but not in the royal tombs.

Original Source

Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings. {without...: Heb. without desire}
