2 Chronicles Chapter 15
The vibe of the Spirit of God totally hit up Azariah, Oded’s son.
And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
He rolled up to Asa and was like, "Yo Asa, and all my crew in Judah and Benjamin, check this! The Lord’s got your back if you keep it real with Him; hunt for Him, and He’ll show up; but if you dip on Him, He’ll dip on you too."
And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD {is} with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. {to meet...: Heb. before Asa}
For a hot minute, Israel was completely lost without the true God, no priests to drop knowledge, and nada law.
Now for a long season Israel {hath been} without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
Yet when they were in a bind and called on the Lord God of Israel, they totally found Him, no cap.
But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
Back in the day, it was pure mayhem; no one had peace going out or coming in, just mad stress for the whole land.
And in those times {there was} no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations {were} upon all the inhabitants of the countries.
Nations were beefing with nations, cities with cities; God was serving up all the drama.
And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity. {destroyed: Heb. beaten in pieces}
So stay strong, fam; don’t let your hands go weak; your hustle is about to pay off, fr.
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
When Asa caught this word and the prophecy from Oded, he got super hyped and tossed the nasty idols from Judah and Benjamin, plus those cities he snagged from Ephraim, and he revived the altar of the Lord right in front of the porch.
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that {was} before the porch of the LORD. {abominable...: Heb. abominations}
He gathered all of Judah and Benjamin, and the outsiders from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon; they came together when they spotted that the Lord was with him.
And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God {was} with him.
So they all linked up in Jerusalem during the third month, in the fifteenth year of Asa’s reign.
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
They brought offerings to the Lord at that time, bringing the goods: seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil {which} they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. {the same...: Heb. in that day}
They made a vow to seek the Lord God of their ancestors with all their heart and soul, periodt.
And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
Anyone who wasn’t on board to seek the Lord God of Israel was gonna be put to death, no matter if they were small or big, man or woman.
That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
They swore to the Lord with all the energy, shouting, trumpets, and cornets, no cap.
And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
All of Judah was hyped about the oath; they swore with all their heart and sought Him with all their desire, and they found Him; the Lord blessed them with chill vibes all around.
And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
Asa even booted his mom, Maachah, from being queen because she crafted an idol in a grove; Asa smashed that idol, and torched it by the brook Kidron.
And also {concerning} Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from {being} queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped {it}, and burnt {it} at the brook Kidron. {mother: that is, grandmother} {idol: Heb. horror}
Though the high places in Israel weren’t taken down, Asa’s heart remained solid throughout his reign.
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
He brought into the house of God all the stuff his pops dedicated and what he dedicated himself, silver, gold, and dope vessels.
And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.
And there was no {more} war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
