1 Thessalonians Chapter 3
We reached a point where we couldn't hold it in any longer, so we figured it was best to chill in Athens by ourselves;
Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;
Therefore, we sent Timotheus, our dude and God's hype man, to lift your spirits and reassure you about your faith;
And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
Don’t let these tough times rattle you; you already know we’re supposed to deal with this kind of stuff, no cap.
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. {there unto: or, to sufferings, or, to persecution}
For real, when we were hanging with you, we mentioned that hard times were coming; and look, they hit, and you know that's true.
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
That’s why, when I couldn't hold back any longer, I sent to check on your faith, 'cause I didn't want the tempter to mess things up for you and make our work worthless.
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.
But now that Timotheus has returned with the solid update about your faith and love, and how you always think of us, wanting to vibe together again, just like we do with you;
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also {to see} you:
So, fam, we felt so much more at peace about you during our struggles because of your faith;
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
For real, we’re straight living our best lives if you’re holding it down in the Lord.
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
Honestly, what can we even say to God about you, for all the joy we hold because of you in front of our God;
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
Day and night, we’re praying hard to see your face and level up what’s lacking in your faith?
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
Now, may God himself, our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, lead us to you.
Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. {direct: or, guide}
And may the Lord help you flourish and overflow with love for each other and everyone else, just as we do for you;
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all {men}, even as we {do} toward you:
So that your hearts remain pure and holy before God, our Father, when our Lord Jesus Christ returns with all his crew.
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. {saints: or, holy ones, or, angels}
