1 Thessalonians Chapter 2
Listen up, fam, our arrival wasn't pointless, no cap.
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
Even after getting wrecked and treated hella sus in Philippi, we still went all out and spread God's gospel with mad energy.
But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
Our message wasn’t sketchy or whack, for real.
For our exhortation {was} not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
Since God put his trust in us with the gospel, we keep it real, not trying to impress anyone but God, who knows what's up in our hearts.
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
We never came at you with flattery or greed, God’s our witness, fr fr.
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God {is} witness:
We weren't looking for glory from any of y'all, not you or anybody else, even though we could’ve flexed like the apostles.
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor {yet} of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. {been...: or, used authority}
We were super chill and caring with you, like a nurse showing love to her kids.
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
We were all in for you, ready to share not just the gospel but our whole vibe, ‘cause you meant the world to us.
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
You remember our grind, hustling day and night so we wouldn’t be a hassle, while preaching the gospel to you.
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
You peeped how we stayed holy, just, and blameless among you believers, no cap.
Ye {are} witnesses, and God {also}, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
Like a dad vibes with his kids, we lifted you up, comforted, and motivated each of you.
As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father {doth} his children,
We want you to vibe in a way that’s worthy of God, who called you to his kingdom and glory.
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
We’re grateful to God non-stop ‘cause when you heard our message, you didn’t see it as just human words, but the genuine word of God, which is alive and working in you believers.
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received {it} not {as} the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
You became followers of God’s churches in Judea, experiencing struggles just like they did from your own folks.
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they {have} of the Jews:
They outright killed Jesus and their prophets, went after us, and are not down with God at all.
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: {persecuted us: or, chased us out}
They’re blocking us from spreading the gospel to Gentiles to fill their sin quota; God’s wrath is coming for them, no cap.
Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
We, fam, got separated from you for a minute, but not in heart, so we worked extra hard to see your faces ‘cause we really missed you.
But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
I, Paul, tried to slide back to you multiple times, but Satan was straight-up blocking us, savage move.
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
What’s our hope, joy, or crown of hype? Aren’t you all gonna be in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes back?
For what {is} our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? {Are} not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? {rejoicing: or, glorying?}
You are our glory and joy, no doubt.
For ye are our glory and joy.
