1 Peter Chapter 4
So, since Christ went through all that for us, we gotta vibe with the same mindset: if you're suffering, you’ve checked out of sin, no cap.
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
Live for what God desires, not for the squad’s cravings, periodt.
That he no longer should live the rest of {his} time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
We’ve already had our share of fun vibing with the world, living it up with parties and all that sus behavior.
For the time past of {our} life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
They think it's lame that you’re not rolling with their crew, talking smack about you.
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with {them} to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of {you}:
But they gotta answer to the one who judges the living and the dead, fr.
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
That’s why the good news was shared with those who’ve passed, so they could be judged like us but still vibe with God’s spirit.
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
The end is approaching, so stay alert and keep praying, fam.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Most importantly, show mad love to one another; love covers a multitude of mistakes.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. {shall: or, will}
Be chill and welcoming to each other, no drama.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
Everyone’s got talents, so use them to uplift each other, like good stewards of God’s grace, it’s lit.
As every man hath received the gift, {even so} minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
If you’re gonna speak, make it sound like God’s wisdom; if you’re serving, do it with the strength God provides, so He gets all the glory through Jesus, forever and ever. Amen.
If any man speak, {let him speak} as the oracles of God; if any man minister, {let him do it} as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Yo, don’t stress about the fiery trials; it’s not weird, it’s just part of the grind.
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
Rather, celebrate that you’re sharing in Christ’s struggles, 'cause when His glory shows up, you’ll be hyped with joy.
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
If you’re catching heat for being a Christian, be pumped; the spirit of glory is on you, they’re trash-talking Him, but you’re making Him shine.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy {are ye}; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
But don’t be out here suffering for being a criminal or a gossip, that’s just savage.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or {as} a thief, or {as} an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
If you’re suffering for being a Christian, don’t feel ashamed; just flex on God’s glory instead.
Yet if {any man suffer} as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
The time for judgment is upon us, starting with God’s crew; if it’s tough for us, what’s it gonna be like for those ignoring the gospel?
For the time {is come} that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if {it} first {begin} at us, what shall the end {be} of them that obey not the gospel of God?
And if the righteous barely make it, where do you think the wicked and sinners will end up?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
So if you’re suffering for God’s purpose, trust Him with your soul while doing good, like a faithful Creator.
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls {to him} in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
