1 Kings Chapter 6
So like, four hundred and eighty years after the Israelites bounced from Egypt, in Solomon's fourth year, during the month Zif, he kicked off the construction of the Lord's crib. Big vibes.
And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which {is} the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD. {began...: Heb. built}
The house that Solomon crafted for the Lord measured 60 cubits in length, 20 cubits in width, and 30 cubits in height. Straight up lit.
And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof {was} threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty {cubits}, and the height thereof thirty cubits.
The porch out front of the temple was 20 cubits long, matching the width of the house, and 10 cubits wide. No cap, it was dope.
And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits {was} the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; {and} ten cubits {was} the breadth thereof before the house.
For the house, he designed some narrow windows to let in light. Bussin.
And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. {of...: or, broad within, and narrow without: or, skewed and closed}
He built chambers around the house that matched the walls of both the temple and the oracle. Savage setup.
And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, {against} the walls of the house round about, {both} of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about: {against the wall: or, upon, or, joining to the wall} {built chambers: Heb. built floors} {made chambers: Heb. made ribs}
The first chamber was 5 cubits wide, the middle one was 6, and the last one was 7. He made sure the walls had narrowed rests for the beams so they wouldn’t wreck the walls.
The nethermost chamber {was} five cubits broad, and the middle {was} six cubits broad, and the third {was} seven cubits broad: for without {in the wall} of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that {the beams} should not be fastened in the walls of the house. {narrowed...: Heb. narrowings, or, rebatements}
While they were building the house, they used prepared stone, so no hammer, axe, or iron tools could be heard in there. Just chill vibes.
And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe {nor} any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
The entrance to the middle chamber was on the right side, and they had to climb some winding stairs to get to the middle and then up to the last chamber.
The door for the middle chamber {was} in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle {chamber}, and out of the middle into the third. {side: Heb. shoulder}
He finished the house and wrapped it up; covered it with cedar beams and boards. Goated finish.
So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar. {with...: or, the vaultbeams and the panellings with cedar}
Then he added chambers around the entire house, 5 cubits high, chillin' on the house with cedar timber. Periodt.
And {then} he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house {with} timber of cedar.
God hit up Solomon and was like, "Yo, check it out."
And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
About this crib you’re building, if you vibe with my rules and keep it 100, then I’ll stick to my promise with you just like I did with your pops David.
{Concerning} this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
I’ll vibe with the Israelites and won’t ghost my peeps, no cap.
And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
So Solomon got to building and wrapped it up, fr.
So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
He decked out the walls with cedar vibes, flooring and ceilings all looking fresh, covering the inside with wood, making it all bussin.
And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: {and} he covered {them} on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir. {both...: or, from the floor of the house unto the walls, etc}
He built twenty cubits on the sides, flooring and walls all cedar, even for the oracle, which is the real holy spot.
And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built {them} for it within, {even} for the oracle, {even} for the most holy {place}.
The temple itself was forty cubits long, just lit.
And the house, that {is}, the temple before it, was forty cubits {long}.
Inside, the cedar was all carved up with cool designs and flowers, no stone anywhere, just pure cedar vibes.
And the cedar of the house within {was} carved with knops and open flowers: all {was} cedar; there was no stone seen. {knops: or, gourds} {open: Heb. openings of}
He set up the oracle inside to place the ark of the covenant of the Lord there, straight up.
And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
The oracle measured twenty cubits long, wide, and tall, all decked out in pure gold, covering the cedar altar like a boss.
And the oracle in the forepart {was} twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and {so} covered the altar {which was of} cedar. {pure: Heb. shut up}
So Solomon went all out, lining the crib's interior with pure gold, flexing with gold chains in front of the oracle. Major rizz.
So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.
He covered the entire house in gold, like it was a vibe, even the altar by the oracle got that gold treatment. No cap.
And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that {was} by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
Inside the oracle, he crafted two cherubs from olive wood, each a solid ten cubits tall. That's lit.
And within the oracle he made two cherubims {of} olive tree, {each} ten cubits high. {olive: or, oily: Heb. trees of oil}
One wing of the cherub was five cubits, the other wing was the same, so together they spanned ten cubits. Savage.
And five cubits {was} the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other {were} ten cubits.
The other cherub was also ten cubits, and both were on the same level, same size. Periodt.
And the other cherub {was} ten cubits: both the cherubims {were} of one measure and one size.
Each cherub stood ten cubits high, no doubt about it.
The height of the one cherub {was} ten cubits, and so {was it} of the other cherub.
He placed the cherubs in the inner house, spreading their wings so one touched one wall and the other touched the opposite wall. They were vibing in the middle.
And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the {one} wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house. {they...: or, the cherubims stretched forth their wings}
He covered the cherubs in gold too, just to keep it consistent.
And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
He carved the walls all around with dope designs of cherubs, palm trees, and flowers, both inside and out. Bussin'.
And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without. {open flowers: Heb. openings of flowers}
The floor of the house? Yep, all gold too, inside and out. Major flex.
And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
For the entrance to the oracle, he made these dope olive wood doors, and the frame was like a fifth of the wall, no cap.
And for the entering of the oracle he made doors {of} olive tree: the lintel {and} side posts {were} a fifth part {of the wall}. {a fifth...: or, fivesquare}
The two doors were also made of olive wood; he carved cherubs, palm trees, and flowers on them, then covered everything in gold. That’s some serious rizz.
The two doors also {were of} olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid {them} with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees. {two...: or, leaves of the doors} {open flowers: Heb. openings of flowers}
He also made the temple door posts outta olive wood, and they were a fourth of the wall, fr.
So also made he for the door of the temple posts {of} olive tree, a fourth part {of the wall}. {a fourth...: or, foursquare}
The two doors were made of fir tree; one door had two folding leaves, and the other door was the same, lit.
And the two doors {were of} fir tree: the two leaves of the one door {were} folding, and the two leaves of the other door {were} folding.
He carved cherubs, palm trees, and flowers on them too, then laid gold over the carvings. Pure bussin.
And he carved {thereon} cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered {them} with gold fitted upon the carved work.
He built the inner court with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams, vibes.
And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
In the fourth year, they laid the foundation for the Lord’s house in the month of Zif, periodt.
In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:
And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts. Took him seven years, savage.
And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which {is} the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it. {through out...: or, with all the parts thereof, and with all the ordinances thereof}
