1 Corinthians Chapter 8
Ayo, when it comes to food given to idols, we all get the deal. Knowledge might puff you up, but love is what really lifts you, fr.
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
If anyone thinks they’ve got it all figured out, they’re actually clueless like they should be, periodt.
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
But if someone shows love for God, they’re straight-up recognized by Him, no cap.
But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
Now, regarding grub sacrificed to idols, we know that idols are just vibes, and there’s only one real God, bet.
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol {is} nothing in the world, and that {there is} none other God but one.
Even if there are “gods” out there, whether in the sky or on the ground, they’re just sus; there’s still only one.
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
For us, there’s one God, the Father, who crafted everything, and we exist in Him; plus one Lord, Jesus Christ, who’s the GOAT.
But to us {there is but} one God, the Father, of whom {are} all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom {are} all things, and we by him. {in: or, for}
But not everyone is on this knowledge tip; some still feel uneasy about munching on food given to idols, and their conscience is weak, so it gets messed up.
Howbeit {there is} not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat {it} as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
But food doesn’t alter our standing with God; chowing down doesn’t make us better or worse, it’s just chill.
But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. {are we the better: or, have we the more} {are we the worse: or, have we the less}
Just keep it in mind, fam, that your freedom shouldn’t trip up those who are struggling.
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. {liberty: or, power}
If someone sees you, who knows the real deal, vibing and munching in an idol’s temple, won't that push the weak to eat the idol grub?
For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; {emboldened: Gr. edified}
And through your knowledge, that weak dude could end up in a rough spot, and Christ died for him, fr.
And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
So when you mess with your brothers and wound their weak conscience, you’re actually sinning against Christ, savage.
But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
So if my munching offends my brother, I won’t chow down on meat while the world’s still spinning, no cap, to keep him from stumbling.
Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
