1 Corinthians Chapter 13
If I’m spitting game with other people or angels but ain’t got love, I’m just a bunch of noise, fr.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become {as} sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Even if I’ve got crazy prophecy skills and know all the mysteries, without love, I’m literally nothing, no cap.
And though I have {the gift of} prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
Giving away my things to those in need and even laying down my life is pointless if love ain’t there; it’s a straight-up waste.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed {the poor}, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Love is chill and nice; it doesn’t get jealous or show off, periodt.
Charity suffereth long, {and} is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, {vaunteth...: or, is not rash}
Love doesn’t act shady, it’s not about itself, and it doesn’t flip out easily; it doesn’t entertain negative thoughts.
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Love doesn’t vibe with bad stuff, but it gets amped about the truth.
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; {in the truth: or, with the truth}
Love can take on anything, believes in all things, hopes for everything, and hangs in there through everything.
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love never dips out; prophecies might fade, languages might quit, and knowledge might disappear, but love stays lit.
Charity never faileth: but whether {there be} prophecies, they shall fail; whether {there be} tongues, they shall cease; whether {there be} knowledge, it shall vanish away. {fail: Gr. vanish away}
We only know a bit and prophecy a bit, no cap.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when the real deal drops, all that half-baked stuff will be no more, periodt.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. {done away: Gr. vanish away}
When I was a kid, I acted like one and thought like one, but when I leveled up, I dropped the kid vibes.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. {thought: or, reasoned} {put away: Gr. vanish away}
Right now, it’s like peeping through a foggy glass; but then, I’ll see everything crystal clear, and I’ll know it all.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. {darkly: Gr. in a riddle}
Right now, we’ve got faith, hope, and love; but love is the ultimate of them all.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these {is} charity.
