1 Corinthians Chapter 1
Paul, chillin' as an apostle of Jesus Christ 'cause God was like that, and Sosthenes, our homie.
Paul, called {to be} an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes {our} brother,
To the crew of God in Corinth, all the folks who are vibin' in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, shoutout to everyone who calls on the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, no cap.
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called {to be} saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
Sending you grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, fr.
Grace {be} unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and {from} the Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m always grateful to God for you all, for the grace He blessed you with through Jesus Christ; that’s just straight fire.
I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
You’re all stacked with Him in every way, with all the vibes and knowledge, periodt.
That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and {in} all knowledge;
The testimony of Christ is solid in you, like, for real.
Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
You’re not lacking any gift, just waiting for our Lord Jesus Christ to really show up.
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: {coming: Gr. revelation}
He’ll keep you legit until the end, so you can be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ, no cap.
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, {that ye may be} blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is faithful, who called you into the squad of His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.
God {is} faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
So, fam, I’m hitting you up in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, let’s all vibe together, no beef, just be perfectly united in the same mindset and judgment.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and {that} there be no divisions among you; but {that} ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. {divisions: Gr. schisms}
So, like, I peeped from the homies at Chloe's place that y’all are having some drama.
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them {which are of the house} of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
Now, check it, some of you are like, "I'm team Paul," while others ride with Apollos or Cephas, and some are just down for Christ.
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
Is Christ divided or something? Did Paul get nailed for you? Or did you get baptized in Paul’s name?
Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
No cap, I’m glad I only baptized Crispus and Gaius, fam.
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
I don’t want anyone claiming I did it for my own fame.
Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
I also dunked Stephanas' whole crew; other than that, I’m unsure if I baptized anyone else.
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
For real, Christ sent me to drop the gospel, not just to dunk folks, and not with fancy talk, so the cross doesn’t lose its vibe.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. {words: or, speech}
To those who are lost, the whole cross deal seems dumb, but for us saved peeps, it’s pure power from God.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
It’s written, "I'm about to destroy the wisdom of the wise and make the smart ones look dumb."
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where my wise guys at? Where the scholars? Where the debaters of this world? Didn’t God just make worldly wisdom look sus?
Where {is} the wise? where {is} the scribe? where {is} the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
So like, God showed off His wisdom, and the world was like, "Nah, we don’t see you." But God was like, "Preaching’s kinda sus, but it saves those who vibe with it."
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
The Jews want a sign, while the Greeks are out here chasing wisdom, no cap.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
We out here preaching Christ on that cross, and for the Jews, it’s a major trip, but for the Greeks, it’s just plain whack.
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But for those called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ is the ultimate power and the sickest wisdom of God.
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
God’s foolishness? Way smarter than human brains; His weakness? Straight up stronger than any dude out there.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Look at your calling, fam. Not many wise, strong, or fancy are in this crew.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, {are called}:
God picked the foolish things to school the wise, and the weak things to humble the strong, for real.
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
He chose the low-key things and what people sleep on to flip the script on what’s high and mighty.
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, {yea}, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
So no one can flex in front of Him, periodt.
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
But through Him, you’re in Christ Jesus, who’s got wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption on lock.
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
So, like, if you’re gonna flex, make sure it’s all about the Lord, no cap.
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
